Here are two quilts I have done mixing batiks with non batiks. I don't use solids very often but I use plenty of blenders that "read" solid. I love mixing them.

I love mixing blenders or solids with batiks. :)

I mix batiks with other fabrics and colors. I love the look of the batiks and think they can add a lot to a quilt.

I have mixed a solid black with batiks and it look great. Sorry, I can't provide a pic.

I have a friend who used batiks thru out her quilt and then did the borders with solid hs triangles and it looked great.
depending on the pattern, you could use the batiks in center of block, then use the batiks or vice versa. If you have a pattern in mind , why not try doing a block to see how it looks. |
