Hmmm. Let's try it in the 5-strip version. I dunno, I don't think it adds much. What do you think? Yes I also like the alternate color strips. Another idea to add to the ever growing list. :). Thanks Judy in Phx, AZ |
I agree. It loses the basket weave effect with the color reversal. It's strongest in the two-color brick-red one you did above.
I wonder if contrast matters? How are you doing these sketches, Peckish? What fun. |
Really like the 9 strip neutral. I'm thinking the strips would finish at 1" (for a 9" block), 6 blocks on point across gives you a quilt that's roughly 75 inches.... Hmmmm.

Rail Fence is the block name.

The quilt in the first post looks like one big piece of fabric that has been quilted. A lot of work to make it look that way.

How are you doing these sketches, Peckish? What fun. One of the first alternate versions I tried was pastels - it didn't work very well. Oh, and I'm using EQ7. LOVE it. |
I meant to say that I wondered if contrast matters in achieving the basket-weave effect. It seems to.

I am sure there is a name for this quilt but can't find it. Peggi sure gave a lot of layouts with this pattern. EQ makes it so easy to change colors on a quilt design.
