Yes, can't wait to see the picture. OBWs are one of my favorite quilts.
|
I have made two OBW quilts. Didn't like either one. The posted ones are so pretty, but I do not have the eye needed to put them together, or I chose the wrong fabric. Never again.

I just finished my 3rd OBW, I love them, I also love bargello's, I made 1 and would do another one day.
Each to their own :) It's a pity you threw out the bargello Quiltaddict, I would have finished it for you. |

Mine is also bargello, but I was so disgusted I threw the whole thing in the trash. Will never try another, although I love the way they look.

That's what I said too as I was sewing the rows together. Then I put the front borders on, then, I figured out the back. Last week, I put the front and back together and actually quilted it myself and finished the binding.
I washed and dried it to get the crinkle look. I love it now!!! I won't right away, but I think I will be making another one some day. It's kind of like they say...never say never. |
I started one and it is in a cupboard never to be seen again. I found it too boring. The fabric I got was beautiful, but I can't make myself work on it. I just don't like it. Maybe someday.

I feel the same way about a necktie quilt I'm making right now. Silk + bias = grumpy quilter. This thing is b**t ugly due to the poor man's taste in ties, and it's appliqued on a satin top. Then she wanted flannel backing. It weighs a TON. I've just started the quilting and cannot wait for it to be done. donE, doNE, dONE, DONE !!!

A year ago or more I kept hearing how great DP9s were so I got the idea to make one. BIG MISTAKE. Finally I took the blocks that I'd made, the blocks that I'd cut, and all the fabric needed to finish this large quilt to a retreat determined to finish it. I took it out and had it done in less than 10 minutes! One of the ladies across from me said oh that's so beautiful! I asked if she really liked it and when she said yes, I shoved it across the table, gave it to her and marked it off my list. Project done! So yes, I can feel your pain.

Yes I spent money I shouldn't have sspent on the book and was too overwhelmed. I decided I sew for fun and not to get stressed out so I am selling the book If I could ever figure out how :)
