Do not feel bad about not liking it.

I do not like Bargello, I think they would give me nightmares.

To Each His/Her Own.

[
QUOTE=sewingsuz;4852332]I started this one block wonder last spring for my daughter. I have to finish it and get it off my design wall. I am going to sell the book. I am sorry I ever heard about this quilt. I am sweing the pieces in each row togethe and then I will sew the rows together. I told my daughter when it is on your bed and I am visiting you please take it and hide it. Don't want to look at this for a long time.:thumbdown::thumbdown::p:([/QUOTE]

Yes, yes, yes. It was a stack and whack and although I like what other people do with stack and whack, I hate doing it myself. So it went into the free box at a guild meeting and I guess someone took the pieces because, thankfully, I never had to see it or the fabric again. That tells me that whoever got the pieces probably didn't finish it, either. froggyintexas

At a quilters retreat I was shown the stack and whack. My brain locked up like gears without oil. My friend who was also attending gave me a wall hanging with fabric we purchased during the shop hop of that retreat. I love it and it is hung in our home from time-to-time, I love it and she loves challenges. Would I ever make one? Nope....my brain still locks up...it's just not in my future.

I like what one other member said in an earlier post. Quilting has to be fun for me, Ill leave challenging to others ....easy peasy is my middle name.

I really like the 1 block wonder. I really have other blocks I don't like when I'm finished them. I guess we all have our druthers.

I with you. There was just too much fussing with it and it never looked right. It could have been the fabric I chose but I ended up not finishing it and giving the pieces to someone on the board. I do love kalidascope blocks though. And I will also be getting rid of the book . Thanks for reminding me.

I have made a One Block Wonder. I think the thing that is wrong with the pattern is they tell you to use the width of the fabric and it makes it really hard to line up the repeats of the fabric. When I make a Wackeroo Quilt (stack and Whack) they had us cut the fabric on the fold first and then line up using the 22 inches of fabric. This is a lot easier than doing it the other way around. You really need a place to lay the quilt out for when you are sewing it together and you need to number your rows. Plus you need to use lots of pins when you are sewing it. I laid mine on the bed as I was working on it while we were down south in our 5th wheel.

Another thing I found out on the OBW was that your pattern should not be real dense. My black and white did not have a lot of background and it makes it really busy. I think the nices ones I have seen are the ones with more background color and less pattern. I hope you can understand what I am saying about this.

As for the bargello I made one of those as well. Again you need a place to lay the pieces out and make sure to number the rows. We lived in a bigger house that that time and I laid it down on our basement floor and I would go over and pick it up the pieces as I was sewing it together.
