I was checking on featherweights and came across the website from a fellow who refurbishes featherweights and has a 221 for $800 which is completely gone over from top to bottom, case is refurbished and like new comes with 5 bobbins, instruction manual
oil,several attachments, and more.

QuiltnCowgirl 09-16-2011 09:44 AM

No I would not. There are plenty of FW out there in very good shape for a whole heck of a lot less than $800.

virtualbernie 09-16-2011 09:54 AM

H*** No!

Annie68 09-16-2011 09:59 AM

Way too much, keep looking!

I totally agree with this. You can find them all day long on eBay for $225 or so. And in very good condition with all the attachments and a good case.

RenaB 09-16-2011 10:08 AM

Nope.

Nanamoms 09-16-2011 10:10 AM

I know where 2 are right now for $375 and $400 with all the attachments and ready to sew!

So, NO on the $800!!

babyboomerquilter 09-16-2011 10:12 AM

$800.00 is way too high, keep looking. Some times ,great buys on ebay.

cjomomma 09-16-2011 10:17 AM

WOW! I almost fell out of my chair! Way too high on the price!

TinkerQuilts 09-16-2011 10:18 AM

No way. But if it were a 222 . . . maybe.

dakotamaid 09-16-2011 10:25 AM

Ditto, no way, no how.

myreda 09-16-2011 10:39 AM

Nope. I got a nice Featherweight on Ebay for $218 and my husband found another one that was very nice at an antique shop for $300. Keep Looking. It took me awhile to win an auction on Ebay but it was worth the effort.

sewwhat85 09-16-2011 10:48 AM

no that is way too much

dphelps 09-16-2011 10:54 AM

NO way,NO how.TOO much $$$$.Ridiculous!

quiltsRfun 09-16-2011 10:54 AM

Put me down as another no. I'd have to think twice about going much higher than $300.

hobbykat1955 09-16-2011 11:51 AM

NOOOOOOO...There are guys that refurbish I know in RI and they sell gorgeous machines for 350.00 all done up shiney and new....

Jennie and Me 09-16-2011 11:57 AM

Absolutely NO!! There are lots of beautiful featherweights out there that are less than half of that.

MrsGuava 09-16-2011 01:42 PM

I recently saw two, a roughed up one for $250 and a spotless one for $350

Annaquilts 09-16-2011 01:45 PM

No! That is way over priced.

jaciqltznok 09-16-2011 01:59 PM

NO WAY!!! Not even if it were painted teal with a pink lightening bolt on it...

Charlee 09-16-2011 02:00 PM

Nope! It's simply not worth it.

luckylindy333 09-16-2011 02:02 PM

No way!

susie-susie-susie 09-16-2011 02:24 PM

That is way overpriced. I would not buy it.

2 Attachment(s)
HOW MUCH????? I have just bought one on e-bay in UK for £57!!! Just had it completely overhauled by mechanic and he told me its the best machine he's seen in ages!!!! It came with lots of extras, original oil can etc. There are better bargains out there!! Hope you get as lucky as me!!! The mechanic charged me £40! So for less than £100 I have a first class machine!!

mom-6 09-16-2011 02:51 PM

I paid $400 for mine which was in superb condition with almost equally good case and had all the attachments including buttonholer. It has worked very well for me and I expect it to continue to do so.

fabric_fancy 09-16-2011 02:53 PM

no way

you can't even sell an over the top stunning FW in my area for $400.

they run from $150 to $300 around here - if you ask for more no one buys them - they just sit on craig's list forever

deedum 09-16-2011 02:56 PM

What they said. No

MaryAnnMc 09-16-2011 03:05 PM

No way. I snagged one on ebay recently for $170. My only issue is she stinks, but many of them do. I did see some guaranteed not to have odors for $500, but that's still too much in my book.

mymsmess 09-16-2011 03:41 PM

NO WAY! ARE THEY CRAZY????????

Fabriholic 09-16-2011 03:44 PM

No and H*** NO!

ckcowl 09-16-2011 03:46 PM

oh my goodness- some people really think they've 'got something' and like to (take advantage)
might be someone related to one of my sister in law's= she has antiques in her garage that have been sitting there for 15+ years- while they go hungry===because she thinks they are worth way more than anyone would ever pay for them-
i guess to her they are worth that much-
and that person can keep their machine= because it seems to be worth an aweful lot to them :)

OneMoreQuilt 09-16-2011 04:20 PM

You could get 2 or 3 of them for $800!!!

scowlkat 09-16-2011 04:22 PM

Well, if you decide to buy it, I have some ocean front property in Az that you might consider too!

Sewsweet 09-16-2011 04:23 PM

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

carolaug 09-16-2011 04:24 PM

no...I see them all the time for under 100.00

BellaBoo 09-16-2011 04:40 PM

That is too expensive for for it is. I waited for one and found one for FREE! I would pay up $300 for one in excellent condition with lots of attachments, original case and manual.

dreamboat 09-16-2011 04:41 PM

No it is only about $600 over my budget.

Gerbie 09-17-2011 02:42 AM

Not Even if I won the Lottery. Did this guy plate it with 24K gold and diamonds? He is asking wayyyyyy too much for it. I bought one two years ago on ebay for under $200. and it works great. I have just finished piecing a queen sized quilt top on it, and start the quilting on it today. Keep looking. I picked one up last month at a moving sale for $100.00 with oodles of attachments. Seems to sew fine, but DH needs to check light out, it flickers on and off. I haven't had time to really check it out, but it does sew.

GG 09-17-2011 02:52 AM

No I got mine on ebay for 156.00 and is just fine that is way to high priced

Yooper32 09-17-2011 03:01 AM

Absolutley not. If I had that kind of money I would put it toward a machine with a larger harp area. A good Featherweight can be found for much less, just take the time and wait until the right one comes around.
