I saw a simple "Yellow Brick Road" quilt done in neutrals and it was beautiful!!! It was different shades and prints all in ivory and beige. It was positivly striking! Neutrals are not my first color choice but they will make a beautiful quilt.

Hi,
My niece told me she wanted a white/tan, brown and black neutral quilt. I just can't make something that colorless, so I got the Joel Dewberry fabrics, Aviary, in the yellow, blacks, tans. Reall charming, great feel to the fabrics, I am happy making this now! Nancy |
I agree with the tans, creams, and browns...but don't forget to add white !

Ask mom for some paint chips. Much easier to work with a palette in hand.
|
Your spot on with Tans browns creams

I would check to see if they want pale neutrals or dark neutrals or a mixture. My personal preference is not too pale! We received a lovely all white bedspread as a wedding gift and I always felt like it was a totally gorgeous dirt magnet. Didn't stop me from using it for 20+ years before I washed and dried it into oblivion.

So true.. if the person is NOT a quilter who made this statement she may mean something completely different then a true neutral color pallet. When in doubt.. ASK... lol |
