Well, maybe I could buy ONE tire for the Benz I've been wanting, for 20 years or maybe if it could buy me more time to quilt ??? Not buying that, right ?? The down payment on a hardwood floor sounds good. I would save it and buy the things I want or need as I need them. Everytime I have that kind of money (from doing alterations) it seems I spend it on "the kids" (20,28 &30) or my grandson. Anyways, have fun !!

Get a Martelli Enteprises rotary cutter and mat. The mat rolls up and will not crack. The rotary cutter is be best I've ever used. Their non slip strip cut ruler is AWESOME. Check them out here.

Go to a quilt retreat and let someone else clean up the mess and cook for you. Sit a sew while they do the work. It is great.

Take some online classes (since going to quiltshop classes is out).

If I had $250, I would fill the car with gas, get my haircut and styled with a real stylist, and maybe a pedicure/facial. Oh, and buy some chocolate.
Of course if you are talking quilting, I would use it to rebuild the flooring area of my work area, paint the walls, and flooring. I need new good lighting, too. |
I would look into taking a special class or a retreat where I could indulge myself!

I agree with the earlier posters who suggested these ideas:
Accuquilt Go - get the biggest cutter if you can afford it. My friend Cindi recently got one because she's starting to suffer from arthritis. I have the Go Baby and it's awesome. Quilt Retreat. Donate it to charity. I have a nurse friend who would be delighted to receive such a donation. She has 2 longarms and quilts about 30 quilts a month. They are donated to terminally ill patients at one of our local hospitals. She would buy batting and thread for the quilts with your donation. I'm sure you can find similar programs in your area. |

I've got a Bernina 440QE with the medium and large hoops, lots of thread, plenty of fabric and a pimped out sewing room. But can't decide how to spend my $$. Need some suggestions please!!! Some very good scissors in a couple different sizes, plus a good snipper or two. The biggest mat I could get for the table I cut on. A few more rulers. A good portable light--------but I'd design my own, not spend it on the terribly expensive OTT lights. |
