I'll do that tomorrow, but I don't go out on weekends. I am 10 miles from my Joann's, and 10 miles the opposite direction from Wal Mart, and my LQS isn't open on Sundays (Amish country, you know). I will try the pins. I'll post a pic if I ever get it done.

This is why I use Pinmoors. The best thing I have bought in the last year. I can baste a big quilt in no time using these. FYI: I have tried every spongy/foamy/pliable item there is but they aren't Pinmoors.

I use safety pins for my basting. They work great and don't come out like stick pins do. You also don't get jabbed in the boob every time you turn around!

Well, I was pinning it and thought I was on a roll till my grandson called to say he and his dad were locked out of their house, so I had to drive over with a spare key I keep. They only live about 10 minutes from me but by then all my steam was gone. Now I am going to eat some dinner and collapse for the evening; will probably do some knitting while watching TV.

Tape back edges onto table top with painters tape, lay batting on top and smooth, lay top on it and smooth and baste with big needle and thread with big stitches. As you quilt just snip and remove thread before you quilt in that spot.
