Happy Labor Day!!

I am working on a quilt for my nephew and his wife's baby due in December. I wanted to do something that would have a little vintage feel. I saw a quilt on the internet with hour glass that I really liked - now I am trying to decide if these colors all work or if I should just lean towards one or two of the colors. I don't have the print fabric cut. I just have the hour glass blocks sitting on top of the yardage. What do you guys think? All of the colors in the hourglass blocks mixed together? Or should I just lean towards on color set? Or start all over with something different? :) :)

thanks

I lean toward the blues one. In the photo it looks like the black is too black on the brown sampling. My baby quilts tend to be simple. I might try the solids only and let the baby print be the only print. But photos are deceptive sometimes.

If you are going for the vintage look I would use them all. Post pics when you decide which way to go.

I like the scrappy last one. I am assuming it is going to be a boy? A lot of masculine colors there..

I like the second picture best as the values seem best against the patterned fabric. If I was going to use all the colours, I would eliminate the darkest brown and blue from the other hourglasses.

I, also vote for the last on. Cute pattern for the babe!

As far as the hour-glass blocks go - they catch my eye first and the little animal print is secondary.

Of the four options shown, I like the ones using green best - because the hour-glass blocks do not overwhelm the little animal print and it is a softer look.

I think the brown, taupe, and rust hour-glass is too "heavy/harsh" to go with that print.

My thoughts ..... I like the last combination with all the colors.

Cute childen's print. The quilt layout looks great, and bet the new mother will like it for her new baby. Baby will like it too! I also like the Blue as others have voted.
Happy sewing!
