Thanks for your thoughts everyone.
Mama.. I love your dogwood tree and think that the further you go, the better it gets. I also love the picture in the book, but at this point..you have put so much effort into the tree and I do love the direction you are taking..I'd stick with it for my center..Then...I'd make some pillows or a smaller throw to go with the quilt when it comes home using the designs out of the book   See how sneaky that is...I get you to use both!! |
sandpat, aren't you a genius! I LOVE that idea! I really am emotionally attached to the tree (although sometimes the emotion is not GOOD emotion! :x ) - MN winters are harsh and I love spring, and I miss the southern springs I grew up in, there is nothing prettier than a southern spring! I figured that I could bring this quilt out in March each year when Alabama is bursting in color and MN is digging out of a record snow storm...and I would feel so much better! :D
Thanks for all your input and encouragement everyone - y'all are the reason I am at this site! |
I'm glad...now you go girl!!

I am truly intimidated.
My center is just a 4 patch  |

A simple center just leaves more room for creativity for borders. Sounds like a win win to me.
