I have a Rowenta that my wife gave me several years ago. I think she wanted a new one. I guess it works fine. I like it. I've only used one of hers. This one leaks once in a while, not always. My wife says you're supposed to pour the water out after each use. I usually forget. I'd like to know the opinion on that from all of you here. Thanks. Gary

I always drain the water out after each use & I only used distilled water. My Rowenta is over 13 yrs. old & works just fine.

I leave the water in mine. I didn't read that in Rowenta.

I leave the water in mine and we have really hard, rusty water

I have three irons one is a rowneta I never empty mine but once a week I have to refillit so I guess the water doesnt stay in it to long but I use alot of steam

i've never used water in mine.
i prefer to use starch or if i need water i use a mister bottle to mist the fabric. |
i never put water in my iron- i keep a spray bottle on the end of the ironing board to give my fabrics a spritz when needed- i hate sputtering-leaking irons-spitting on my fabrics.

I never empty my Rowenta, but one time I should have. I put it in my large plastic bag with the quilting supplies I waas taking to class, and everything got wet!
|
I try to remember to empty mine after every use.

my iron is a cheap one from meijer. I've had it about 4 years (?) I don't empty my water, but don't always fill it up. Like a PP, I usually keep a spray bottle handy and spritz my fabric. I have had a time or two to do the self clean function on my iron from not emptying the water. Essentially, I turn the iron on really hot for 2 minutes, then shut if off, turn the steam selection to the self-clean icon and hold it face down over a sink.
