Hello Ladies and Gents,
I am currently pricing and actually have on layaway a Janome MC6600p and is interested in purchasing the MC 350E thereafter. Is there anyone out here that have either machine and their thoughts about it (them)? |
Don't have those two - I have the smaller 760. If I knew what I knew now, I'd buy the bigger Janome. I LOVE my machine!!!
i had a 350e, it was a great machine. I sold it however, I didnt use it much. took up alot of precious space in my room ;)
I have the 6600 P and love it.
Many of the folks here have it. Just go to the 'Search' above and type in Janome 6600P and you will be amazed. YOu will love it. |
There is a new Janome coming out in a few days. Unless you got a great deal (under 1149) you may want to consider waiting.
Go to the search feature at the top of the page and put in the machines you're interested in. There have been lots of threads.
I just purchased a 6600 about a month ago and love it!!! It is sooo user friendly and I love what I can do with it compared to the one that's being, sort of, retired (won't give it up). I paid $1149 for mine and it was a great deal!! If you purchase through a dealer, then you usually have a year to upgrade your purchase. They'll take what you paid for your machine and put it towards the new one.
The new Horizon looks to be a beautiful machine, but is going to run about 800-900 more. I don't have the 350, but the next machine I look at is going to be an embroidery. Hope your dealer is as nice as mine!!! Good Luck!! :-D |
All my machines are Janome, I have the 6500,730,350E and the serger LOVE THEM ALL my dealer is awsome. My friend has the 6600 and she loves hers also.
Mine is now retired. It is a 4623 LE Plus and I have had many years of great service from it. Some day I plan to get a new one, it will be a Janome.
i have the 6600 and the Jen platinum..wouldn't trade them in for anything else!
I just got the 6600 P 2 mos. ago, we're still getting aquainted but so far I just luvs her!
I have Janome 6600 and the embroidery machine 10001. I haven't feel the need to purchase another brand name.

I have both of those and love them! Great dependable machines. I've had the 6600 for 18 months and the 350E for 6 months. No problems from either and I've sewn hours and hours.
I started off with a Janome 350e and I liked it a lot however I really wanted a larger hoop - so I sold a ton of stuff and bought the MB-4 which I liked at first then learned to absolutely despise it. I sold that and now have a Brother 4500d and love love love it.
Don't get me wrong I loved my Janome 350e and as long as you are happy with the 5x7 hoop size it's a great, solid machine. I had no issues at all with it. I just wanted that bigger hoop size. I do love my Brother and have had absolutely no problems with it either. |
The new Janome coming out is the 7700 and there are some specsheets available from Canada and England sites. You can read up on it. I expect that the realease of the new machine gives more negotiating power on the 6600s.
I have the Janome 9000 and love it.

I have an 1100SE quilts and embroidries. I love it.
Janome 6600 here... still learning all it can do but love it. Started with a lower-end Janome and it is, and will always be, my baby. Had offers from friends to buy it (since I got a bigger one) but just can't part with it. That alone should tell you what I think about Janome.

when i heard about the 7700 i got a knot in my stomache. why? because i just treated myself to a 6600 in November. i was scared to death i wouldn't be able to resist the new one. (i wasn't even curious about the price. i assumed it would cost exactly whatever amount i had free on my credit card. that's just the way these things work. )
i was so relieved when i finally got to look at an advertisement for it. the 7700 definitely looks like one suweeeeeeet machine. i confess to a bit of drooling over the extra 2-12" of throat space. and they have added a couple of pretty nifty sounding features. but since it does not include a few of the things i like best about my 6600, and has a clear extension table (which would get on my nerves) i don't feel the urge to run out for a trade-in. my heart goes out, though, to anybody who doesn't already have a 6600 and has to choose between the two. that would be a tough decision. i don't know which i'd pick. |
Hi..I just got the Janome 6600P, and it is a wonderful machine..I love it too! There is a 6600, that is different than the Professional model. The dealer also has classes, that is included, where he teaches you things that are not in the book, its a 3 1/2 hr class, for 4 days....12 hours total.
I paid 1499.00, he wouldn't come down at all, and this was during his 'sale'. It is regularly 1999.00, but has been discontinued. The speed is one of the reasons I liked it, and the double needle option...I am sure you know all about it's options, though. It does not slide, or move, when quilting, and that's important to me too. |
I have the 350E and also the MB4 and I LOVE them both. I use the 350E for smaller projects and the MB4 for larger ones.

I have the 6600P and it is a work horse - love it and found it was a good investment.
ok..thanks..I was thinking also of the 1600...
Don't have the 6600 or the 350 but have the 9700. Love my Janome. Where I purchased it also gave lessons. I've never purchased from a dealer who gave classes but from now on that will be my first question.
I too have the 6600P and absolutely love it. There is a Janome 6500-6600 group on Yahoo that has wonderful files and lots of smart members that have answered any questions I had about the machine. Check it out before or even after you buy. Marylou
I got a 6600 for Christmas. I'm still learning about all the lovely things she can do (she's a lot more talented than me) but I love her!
I got the 6600P about a month ago. What an awesome machine! I have a Pfaff 2030 and I wouldn't buy any machine that doesn't have a built in walking foot. The Acufeed on the 6600 is awesome! I really hate the big clunky walking feet you have to attach
The new Janome 7700 is coming out the 1st of May and will retail at $2999. It has what has been called "the real blanket stitch" and an improved blind stitch. I would wait to see what this is all about before purchasing the 6600.....which I have and love.....I have had it three years and am still learning things about it. The Yahoo group is most informative. www.groups.yahoo.com/group/Janome.......You do need to join, but there is no obligations. I joined before I bought my Janome to gather information.....some very accomplished quilters belong and post regularly. The site has the information for both the 6500 and the 6600.
I hope this will help you. |

And I agree, the price may come down quite a bit on the 6600 and used ones will be easy to find. |
I know there are a lot of Janome lovers out there, but I'm not one of them. I had one of their basic machines and it gave me nothing but trouble. I hated it.
I have the 6600 also and love it. I also learned a lot of info from the Yahoo group. I signed up for that and set my preferences to web-only, so that I don't get a lot of emails.
The 6600 is a great machine. |
I have a 6600P for almost a year. This is after I have had Viking, which I still love, Bernina, I hated and a Pfaff, counldnt get any help with. I use my Viking for embroidery now. I love my 6600, esp the accufeet. I will take it in for 1year service in June, cant wait to see how many hours I have sewed on it. I know alot.
DH got a small Janome from Hancocks Fabrics 2 months ago and it is a great little machine also. |

I have the Janome 6600MCP and I love it !!!!! I actually have 3 Janomes and I am sooo hooked I will always buy Janome!!
I have the Janome 6600 and would not trade for any other machine. It is soooooo easy to use when fmq and also just quilting your blocks. I have had mine for about a year. To learn more about the machine, you may want to join the janome 6500/6600 forum on yahoo.
Have two Janomes. Love them both. But neither is one of the ones you're looking at. I would say, if it's Janome it's good. That's just my opinion however, others may feel differently. 8-)

I've had the Janome MC6600 for several years, and I think it's a very reliable work horse. The instruction booklet is bare-bones, but I learned how to oil it (small circle you can see when you remove the bobbin case) and how to clean it (remove the bottom of the machine.
The thread occasionally jumps when I start a seam; I stop sewing and pull more thread down from the top threading, reattach threadto the moving guide, and continue sewing. I've never had it serviced, and it always runs well. I learned how to do free-motion quilting on it and recently bought a Tin Lizzie LS because I love the actual quilting part so much. It's a good machine. Oh, Janome is coming out with a new model of the MC 6600, so you should get a good price. Sharon |
