I just bought the Janome Horizon Memory 7700QPC. It has the new wider bed for quilting. Like it lots. Nice heavy duty.

I've had a MC9000 since 1997 and it has never gone to the shop. Although I've had it for years, I never have actually learned to use all the bells and whistles, but hopefully this year I will turn over a new leaf and start learning since I'm not working. It is a great machine. I plan to take it in for a tune-up/cleaning, although there's nothing wrong with it. After over 15 years, I'm sure it's about time...

I am not a big fan of my little Janome. I have had a variety of machines, and my humble opinion is the best machine I have ever owned is my Bernina 220. It's a low end machine, that I have drug around the entire country on retreats, it's been bounced, shaken, run for hours unmercifully and keeps on stitchin like a champ. I like it better than my top end Babylock too. But that's just my humble opinion.

I'm going to second the Juki line of home sewing machines. I have a Janome 7700 and it is a nice machine, but nowhere as strong a motor as my Juki F-600. For the money you cannot beat the Juki's. I sew with my 7700 because I get the best 1/4" seam with it and that is so important when piecing. Wish I could find a foot I liked as well for my Juki. That is one place the Juki's fall down, the feet are not as well thought out for home use. I have a Juki 98 and love it as well. Love the strong piercing power of the Juki's - my 7700 can be fussy about thicker seams - not my Juki's.

I have a Janome 6500. I love it. I have had for about 10 years. Works great, never a problem. I have tried other machines and I always come back to my Janome. Sorry to hear about the one that had problems, because I have always recommended a Janome 6500 to my quilting friends.

I have the Janome 6260 and have used it for 7 years constantly. Never had a problem, never been serviced and LOVE it. I also have the Juki 98TL and have alot of problems with tension etc.

I have had both the 6600 and the 6700. The 6700 has nice features if they worked properly but my vote would also be the 6600. I understand the new 6900 sewing only machine is $5,000 and quilt shops will not be allowed by Janome to offer them lower so as far as I am concerned they can keep them. They also have to have a completely different table than the 6700 so that is even more expense.

I liked my 6500 so much I up-graded it to the 6600 when it came out, but didn't go to the 7700 only because I retired and didn't want to spend the extra money. I have six Janome machines and love them all, but use the 6600 for most of my sewing. Sorry you had such a bad experience with Janome machines because they really are work horses.

This is screaming "lemon". That has to be very frustrating. Have you made this list of problems known to the manufacturer? It sounds like your dealer has been no help whatsoever and I certainly would not buy another machine through him/her.

This is the one I'm calling a lemon!
