I need a finished quilt in three days. I have a jelly roll all sewn in one strip for another jelly roll race pattern. I am going stitch long strips of batting in while I sew. Then sew across to make a squares. Will it work, I don't know but I'm going to try. See you in a few hours.

Best of luck

Think before speaking.... I have to have two jelly roll strips ready to sew before it will work. I will be cutting strips from one color fabric for the backing and sewing them together. If I'm thinking right, I'll just have to sew the batting and backing one time? I have a vision it will work but if it will, is a guess.

Good luck with that
Sounds interesting Can't wait to see it Happy quilting |
I believe you're on the right track...saw one quilted like this on Fons/Porter, only they used a serger...waiting to see your outcome ~ :D

Oh this is exciting!!! please post pics (PPP)

in the time it will take you cut ALL those strips you could have the top done and basted for quilting!
just saying... |
I think it would be neat to piece the top, sandwich, then quilt on the diagonal....kind of like you would criss-cross going through a nine-patch. Maybe in a 2 inch pattern

I agree with Jaci..I think it will take you longer to cut the pieces...sew the top then quilt it with a stitch in the ditch and call it done...crafty_linda_b
