I went to Joann's this morning and picked up a couple of full bolts and a couple of different yardages. It was a mixture of 20%, 40% and 60% off. I was the only one in the fabric area. So got in and out quick. Then I went back to Joann's in the late afternoon, because we needed to go back into town and I figured I'd stop back in and get the fabric I was half thinking about but didn't get in the morning. It was very busy this time in. I couldn't believe so much more of the fabric was gone. They had a rolling shelf that was completely over packed with full bolts that morning, and only one short stack of them was left in the afternoon. There had to have been close to 50 or 60 bolts on that shelf, layed flat, and there was only 6 left. The other regular shelves of fabric were getting thinned out as well.
I ended up getting all of the remaining fabric that was the same as the bolt I had bought this morning, and then bought some backing fabric, plus two more fabrics that ended up being a full 8 yards each. Every thing I bought would work as blenders, or background fabric, except for the backing fabric I bought. My husband came in to Joann's, the second trip into town, after he finished his errands. He decided to wander around the store while I was waiting in line to get the fabric measured. I was in line for over an hour. Not a ton of people, about 5 ahead of me, but they all had their carts packed full of fabric. Had a lot of nice conversation while waiting for the people in front of me and about 10 people behind me in line. Everyone was talking like a quilting/sewing group, hubby joined in as well after he got tired of wandering through the empty shelves. Crafter's are such nice people! |
