Well I have now finished a quilt with the Juki, (well....all except for a change of mind regarding the binding and the second border.....it's going to be a day-long date with the seam ripper tomorrow!!!) and I must say I am super impressed with the machine. In my opinion, to me, doing both walking foot quilting and fmq, the machine felt much more positive than the Bernina. I felt more confident and was really pleased with my first attempt at fmq without a BSR. Sure, my stitch lengths were, ahem, somewhat variable in places, but overrall I was tickled pink with my first "solo" effort. A big thumbs up for the Juki TL2010Q, I can see that this machine will be my "go to" for quilting. And it's nice for piecing too....I found the 1/4" mark on the needle plate to be true and by using an old magnetic seam guide I found it easy to keep my fabric feeding through at the mark. I'm glad I purchased this machine.....the only thing that would make it more perfect would be if it had a little voice that yelled at me when I was sewing wrong colours together....you know, a little voice that said "Don't do that dummy, it's going to look awful if you do and you will regret it!!!!" And yes I do. Oh well, I'm off to find the stitch ripper.
