I pin to match seams and occasionally when I'm sewing a long run such as a border if there might be some stretch in one of the fabrics.

pin

The only time I pin is 2 blocks together and do not want to sew wrong edges together

I pin, pin, pin!

I'm an over pinner. Don't remember ever not pinning.

I seldom pin pieces, only long runs like borders, or if the two pieces don't 'nest' together, but then I'm impatient :-)

Nope, don't pin.. I do use an awl to make sure my fabrics stay just where I want them as they go under the needle. I will pin strips when I'm sewing rows together, then use my trusty awl just to make sure!
