I pin ----- it makes me slow down to remove the pin before the needle runs over it ---- when I sew too fast my machine doesn't feed the fabric evenly and I end up ripping out seams.

I pin everything except when I do the 2 inch strips. But instead of pinning EVERY inch like I used to do, I graduated to pinning a hands width apart now. But when I very first started to sew, I literally pinned every half inch. I was broken by that habit from my mom. She said if I wanted her to help me sew "YOU WILL NOT PIN LIKE THAT!!!"

sometimes, just depends on what kind of seam I am sewing.

I pin if I've got star points or something that will REALLY show if it's not lined up right. I use applique pins - they're smaller and thinner and really don't distort the edges.

i very rarely pin but have quilting buddies that pin everything it is what you are comfortable with

I've never used pins for piecing. Never saw the need to. I guess I do it by 'feel'.

I pin if I want my points to line up properly or accurately. Not all the time.

I only pin bindings at the corners and when I am joining the binding. I use hair clips when I am sewing down the already attached binding.
