I'm just wondering if I am absolutely the only person on this board that doesn't sew every single day? I sew a couple of days a week, but so many seem to indicate if they have a day without sewing, it is quite an event!
I could only wish I had the time. :-)
I don't sew every day
I work full time so like you I only get to sew a few times a week. But that's ok with me. I know I have to be in the mood to sew. Guess I haven't gotten bitten by the same quilt bug yet.
Many days I only get to wave to the sewing machine as I am rushing by it. I do not get to sew everyday.
I don't sew every day even though I'm at home. Some days there is too much going on with the kids - some days my back isn't up to sitting at the machine or leaning over a table cutting and basting. I wish I got more sewing done, especially when I see all that some others are doing. But - I can only do the best I can, and admire the work of others!
nope, you are not the only one.
I don't sew everyday. I try, but it is not possible.
I sew when I am in the mood or when I have time.

Nope I don't sew everyday!
You're not the only one. I work part time outside the home and as much as I can I work on my longarm business, and inbetween -- I quilt!
I can't sew everyday. I spend too much time here.
I would love to sew every day, but my work hours just increased, so usually no energy at night. But I'm very thankful that I have a job that needs me so much - especially in the economic times we're in.
That's why I love to read QB in the evenings, it takes much less energy than actually sewing. |
I can't sew every day either; my paying job cuts into my fun-time WAY too much!
I wish I could sew every day!!!! Work and family and life seem to get in the way. I come home from work pretty tired and many times I just am too tired to sew!
I don't "sew" every day. But I do something related to it every day. Maybe planning my next project, cutting pieces, pinning a quilt, looking at magazines.
i usually sew every day, but hit "slumps" every once in a while. i haven't sewn much at all for the past two weeks. i look at the machine. i walk around the space trying to talk myself into working on something, and then i wander off again. i'm not worried. it will pass.
quilting should be fun. so, when you don't have time or don't feel the urge, no sweat. it'll be there waiting when you're ready. :-) |
I don't sew even close to every day. Too busy with part time job and kids! I wish I could sew more.
I don't sew at the machine everyday, but right now I am qulting everyday on my Butterfly quilt.
I think about sewing everyday!
I don't sew everyday. Life gets in the way too much! I do THINK about sewing everyday.
It comes and goes. I get into little periods where I want to sew all day everyday, and just keep pumping out the projects. It passes, then I might not use the machine for a few months. I NEVER stop looking at fabric!
I do not sew every day but I have started a regular habit just lately of always having some hand piecing ready to do the the moment I sit down for the evening in front of telly as DH likes me to watch the old movies with him and I feel if I am doing something with my hands I am not wasting time!! I have made several blocks this way for a Ohio Star quilt I am making out of old shirts, I am well pleased with how it is going to look and to think it has all been done just in the evenings sitting in front of TV!!
It really goes to prove that if you stick at something you will get there in the end! Gal |
Just wait, give yourself time. Bwahahahaha!
Whew! I was feeling sooo guilty for sitting at the computer all day (on the board of course) and not a single stitch sewn! In fact haven't been in my sewing room for about a week, promise myself...tomorrow for sure/
I *could*, if I didn't spend so much time here!
If I get up early every morning I can get an hour of sewing in each day before the rest of the family is up.
I don't sew everyday but I would like to.
Not me. Usually just weekends or when my husband is out of town. When we're home in the evenings together we prefer to spend time with each other. We both work full time +.
I don't sew everyday. Sometimes it's all I can do to just find time to practice piano for my lesson.
I'm a longarm quilter. I stand at the machine most days quilting other people's quilts.
I hand quilt or hand sew most times in the evening, sitting here in my cozy chair. And maybe 2 or 3 mornings a week, I get to machine sew for a little while on my own projects. Every little bit of time spent with thread and fabric is good. It's like therapy-- very relaxing and energizing. |
I sew mostly on the weekends, at least one full day. I work full time too and by the time I get done with the everyday after work normal stuff it's late or I just don't feel like it.
I sew when I'm in the mood for it and have the time to do so. I don't always have time when I am in the mood...I am not always in the mood when I have time. I go through fits and spurts...a week or two where I'll sew every spare minute I get, then a week or two where I only see my machine in passing on my way to do laundry. lol Right now I'm in the midst of a "plenty of time, not in the mood" spurt. It's because I have a LOT of pressing that I need to do before I can move on in my current project...and I hate pressing. I need to get going on it, though, because I just ordered fabric for a customer quilt, and the current one is for my 5yo DD...I don't want to put hers on the back burner while I do the customer quilt and I don't want any projects sitting on the sidelines mocking me while I'm trying to focus on my first customer quilt, lol.
I am so bad that recently while on a cruise (not a quilting one)I had to take along fabric cutting board and needles and thread; so I could hand sew.
Then we spent a month in Virginia and I sewed every day on a machine I left at a friends house so I would have one to work on while I visited. Perhaps I need counseling?...... |
Work 4 days a week and work in sewing in on my days off when possible. I have to work to support my quilting habit. LOL!!!!

I just think about sewing every day. I hope that counts. I looked though some patterns looking for something today. Does that count?
It counts! At least in my book it does.
