I have made a few as gifts and were very well received and are loved. It is such a good feeling to visit someone and see your work displayed.

I love making & using table runners. I try to make them reversible which doubles my possibilities.

I so agree with you. I have a DIL who is a very plain girl & has no clue about decorating. I started by offering her a quilted wallhanging (which I loved) & now she's asking for new placemats & other things that are adding color to their home. It makes me very happy to see her using them in their home.

They are really great to decorate with. Always a change is good for me. Brings in color to the room and you can make them to match everything.

I have made 4 plus place mats to match. Have not one set for myself. Maybe one day!!!

I've never used even One, but see lots of them talked about here. I understand the fact you can use them as a quick Quilt project to learn on but after that they seem useless to me. why not make lap size ones and donate to a charity? Lori K. 8-)

I totally agree, could not have put it better myself.

Sorry - but I am going to ask again - or can someone point me in the direction that explains it. I understand the 10 min table runner where you sew the front and back to make a tube. What I don't understand is how you shape the tips and finish it. Do you sew the tips, and then most of the side seams leaving a space on the side to turn it right-side out? Thank you.

Table runners are a great gift. Everyone has a table and most people like them. I've made a ton of them and everyone is so pleased. They also work well on coffee tables, dressers, etc.
