The second one is the prettiest. My sister folds hers just a little over half so that the lacy or scalloped edge of the back part shows just a little bit out from under the edge of the top one.

There are a lot of "Hanky" pattern books out there. I just finished a butterfly hanky quilt using my grandma, mother and my hankies. I'm now putting on the prairie point finishing binding on it. I used Leisure Arts "Antique Quilts Recreated" book.

If you would google or do a search with "butterfly hankie quilt pattern" you would find lots of sites.

Yesterday I saw a quilt made out of hankies. They were butterflies and I believe they were folded in the shape of butterflies. I can't remember exactly but I think it was from E-patterns.com or quilters world. I purge most everything after I'm done so can't go back and find it. I'm pretty sure it was from one of those. They were beautiful. If I run across them again I'll let you know.

I have been interested in the same thing after returning from a trip home and acquiring 37 more to my collection. I found this pattern accidently the other day...sounds like what you want....http://www.e-patternscentral.com/det...=713&criteria=
Looks like you may have to type it in! I'm looking forward to getting it and making it, too!
