Lady called me today and said she had an old sewing machine for me if I wanted to come pick it up. About a 45 min drive for me. Well.....OF COURSE I WENT! When I got there she had these in her garage just "taken up space and collecting cobwebs". She gave me both of them! Singer 66 Serial AM078465 from 1955 and Sears Kenmore Model 158.14002 from 1971-72. Serial 0018082. I thought I was going after one old machine. Had no idea I was getting machines with cabinets. Excuse the cobwebs-haven't cleaned them yet. I also added this in the vintage section.

the Kenmore is my major machine. Got it as a wedding gift in 1974.

Get my manual no. But I will help with any questions. Will not be around until after next Sunday. Ask after that and I will try to help. Probably will need to be oiled. Then mine runs great.

I love seeing these machines that fall into many of your laps! Makes me want to look for old machines, but when I find one I tell myself... you don't need it and you have no room for it. How do I fight that?

Those old Kenmores are work horses! I have one bought new in the 80's and still use it every day.
