I agree and I like the effect.

It turned out very, very nice! and I yes, I've noticed that with some reds I bought--from Joann's. They are definitely noticeable as to the dye lots being slightly different. However, I'll be once washed two or three times, anyone would be hard pressed to notice and if you don't point it out to your grandson, he won't notice.

I love how it turned out! You should be proud!

Hardly noticeable, I wouldn't change a thing. Very nice quilt.
(When I read the subject line I thought you meant that fabric is just like wool; it is addictive in terms of buying more even though you have more than you'll ever knit/sew)

If you can't see it from the moon it doesn't matter, your Grandson will love it.

Difference in color??? Where??? My tired old eyes can't see it...don't stress about it, as others have said, call it a "design element".

I absolutely adore your quilt! Now seeing yours, I'm going to have to start collecting "I Spy" fabrics to make one for my DGD! Gee...thanks a lot! :D Seriously, I really, really, really love your quilt!

Your DGS is one very lucky little boy who, I know, is going to go gaga over this lovey!

I'm sorry but I can't really tell from the picture I started looking and nothing. I think it will be just fine.

I feel your pain - same thing happened to me and it was with blue, too. I kept it a secret and no one pointed it out TO ME. Shhhhhhh I even won Peoples Choice at our Quilt Show!!!

Huh? Where? Do I need to make an appointment with the eye doctor?

Seriously, a really nifty quilt. The next comment is dereguerre for young adults down here: "No worries."

Applause from Pat

This quilt top came together with much appreciated help from PaperPrincess who helped me with the calculations when my brain just gave up and was about to explode :) Thank you PaperPrincess! GingerK, I collected the fabric over a period of about two months. It wasn't as daunting as I initially thought it would be. I decided what size I wanted the picture blocks to be, then carried around a template which I placed over various fabrics every time I was fabric shopping. This helped enormously in selecting the right fabrics. It was a really fun quilt to make and I will definitely be making more.
