I like the light...........it makes the colours pop! But the dark is nice, too.

Pete 09-29-2011 06:42 PM

The Dark one. Am so happy you posted this, I just purchased the pattern.

Suedon 09-29-2011 07:29 PM

I like the dark - it's more dramatic.

LOL, I was about to type the same words but in the opposite. I can't believe I'm saying THIS, but I love the light best. And I usually lean towards the darker more dramatic.

I have to ask what is the color/name and manufacturer of your light background fabric? I am totally in love with it. Had you chosen a white or tone on tone white, I probably would have chosen the dark. However, this color is absolutely amazing in it's ability to pick up and reflect the colors in the print.
It's a wonderful quilt you have there and I totally love it.

I even like the seams in the light fabric as they give me the feeling of ripples on a calm pond.

snicktrain 09-29-2011 10:03 PM

I like them both but the dark is more elegant. :D

JCL in FL 09-29-2011 10:11 PM

I would like the light for me but the dark makes a stronger impression, more contrast. Both look great.

Dark

Both are beautiful. Love the fabrics.

plmsmith 09-30-2011 03:22 AM

Love the dark

Abbie Jane 09-30-2011 05:24 AM

I like the light background with the floral fabrics. Normally I like the drama of the dark background and both of these are beautiful.

All the fabrics in the Quilt are by Fabric Freedom of London. These are very high quality quiliting cottons that use extremely high quality dyes and finishing techniques and are on very high-quality base fabric so their hand is great and the colors really pop. They are not widely distributed in the USA, being more available in England and Australia. (Full disclosure: Our online store is the largest online Fabric Freedom seller on the internet).

The main fabrics in the quilt are from Fabric Freedom's new Deco Delight line - red/rust colorway. There are five different fabrics in the quilt from this line.

The background fabrics are from Fabric Freedom's Perfect Palette line of dye-matched blenders. All FF fabrics use the color palette represented in this blender line in some manner, so the light and dark backgrounds in these quilts will perfectly match with elements of the Deco Delight fabrics. Each Perfect Palette blender uses 8 screens of different colors to make a wide variation of the colors that will work with them. These variations also give them a nice "cloud" effect.

The pattern for these quilts is Shenandoah, by Creative Sewlutions.

You can PM me for more information on these fabrics or quilts.

Both are lovely - but my favorite is the dark one :-)

Linn 09-30-2011 10:22 AM

I like the light one better

sew1 09-30-2011 01:18 PM

Love those on the dark. Gorgeous.

Alondra 09-30-2011 02:03 PM

That's a hard call - they're both beautiful! I think if I were going to use it for a bed, I'd go for the light one.

twixbar 09-30-2011 02:17 PM

I love both of them, normally I lean towards dark backgrounds, but I really like the light background on this one.

dljennings 09-30-2011 03:18 PM

count me on the dark side... very dramatic...

kbs 09-30-2011 03:18 PM

Dark is good contrast, I like it.

3incollege 09-30-2011 03:20 PM

I like the dark, which one did you choose?

tinker 09-30-2011 06:38 PM

Beautiful!!! Love both, but will have to go with the neutral, It can be used in more areas than the black. Tinker

mrs. fitz 09-30-2011 07:32 PM

BOTH!!! One of those cases where I can't choose, they are both beautiful. If there's any way you can make one of each what a dramatic presentation when shown together.

I normally am not a big black fan, but that one POPS! That being said, I'd rather cuddle up in the lighter quilt.

Grace MooreLinker 10-02-2011 03:02 AM

what pattern are you using?I would do the dark one first ,then I would most likely do the light one next if I could fne a pattern I liked for the colors.

Marilynsue 10-03-2011 10:34 AM

Like them both but LOVE the light. I think it makes the prints brighter. Gorgeous!

toi123 10-03-2011 05:51 PM

Make it reversible - one light side, one dark side. Ha!

I usually tend to lean toward a black background, but not in your case. I think the floral fabric shows up better on the light colored background. It being floral and on the dark shade at that, it just seems to just blend in with the black almost to me anyway.

plmsmith 10-06-2011 01:45 AM

I like them both but if it was mine I would do the dark.

cmg625 10-06-2011 02:36 AM

I think the light is gorgeous and I usually go towards the darker colors.

Spuddy 10-08-2011 11:28 AM

They are both beautiful, but I think I would choose the dark one.

Winkee 10-08-2011 03:04 PM

I like the dark.
