thanks for the picture with the scissors holding the fold up and the one above it. That really shows what it is. I can see why you would not need any batting. I also have the peeper frogs and they give me a wonderful noisy concert every evening in the spring. smile.

Such a fun thread! We're getting educated in Oz talk - and Aussies and Kiwis are getting educated in regional Yank talk.

Kinda makes me wanna add some peepers to something!

Thanks so much everyone. It really has been a learning curve!!
I just re-read my original thread and I am surprised anyone understood it!! Must have been a "nana" moment!! |

I had to go looking around- just google Foldy Stuff or Donna Poster (not Posten). Very neat patterns, and easy as pie! I had seen her on a quilt show several years ago, and she now has many more designs adapted for the method- curved log cabin, pineapple, hexagons, etc. using iron on templates. No need for batting as the blocks use a bit more fabric than conventional sewing. Very innovative, great for beginners as well. What a fun version of peepers! I hope this is what you are looking for.

Heather I know what a peeper border is as I am south of the border to you - NSW - and I have put the link below as it is easier than me trying to explain. One of the ladies in my quilt group has just finished a quilt using this method. So this is what a peeper is to us in the Land of Oz

Here in NY peepers are teeny tiny 2.5 cm frogs that are peeping their hearts out looking for mates! Definitely Not for sitting on.

Would this be what you want (I sort of "get it"---just a very tiny strip of color "peeping out)http://happyinquilting.blogspot.com/...dd-peeper.html

Curiosity killed the cat but for me it was a learning experience. I had to read all 5 pages of the posts and check out the websites to figure out what was going on.
