She is a beauty. All she needs is your loving care and she will shine.

This looks exactly like the machine my Grandmother had. She taught me how to sew. Getting the rhythm was tricky but what fun. What a treasure for you. Thanks for sharing and bringing back great old memories for me.

That looks like the one I have!! It was given to me because I am the only sewer in my husband's family.

I haven't tried mine to see if it works, but I don't think it does. Looks like the belts will need replaced.

She is very beautiful. My friend has given me a old singer, but I haven't gotten her home yet, I do have a place set up for her though. My family worked at singer in Truman Arkansas,I have since found out it was used as a warehouse and not a production site.I used to think singer was the only machine there was, because thats all everyone had .

I have looked and you can get the belts on ebay for less then 15$. This one does not have a belt. I wonder if I can refurbish it myself?

Kwhite - she IS a beauty BUT I have to reprimand you... she is NOT a tTOY... she is a TOOL.. (with which to create beautiful things) My husband has drumed this into my head for years.---when he came home with a new power tool.... I would say.. Hey what a cool TOY! Au contraire. THIS is a TOOL.... soooo I am jealous of your new tool.. I hope you get hours and hours of pleasure from this machine... my only experience with a treadle was I could only sew BACKWARDS..... lol!

I recently was offered my grandmother's machine by my family.

I also learned to sew on that machine at my mother's side. She made clothes for the entire family on that treadle machine.

I am anxious to receive the machine and work with it.

Have a great time.

Our local quilt shop has belts and such for Singer treadles. Check the shops or repair shops in your area and see how they can help.
