Stopped in at my Baby Lock dealer to pick up some supplies... This was not on my list but... How could I resist?
She will be at dealer's probably a week since a tune-up and if necessary re-wiring, were part of the purchase price! Now for the bad part. She only has a zipper foot and 1 bobbin. Any suggestions on where to get the rest of her attachments? I'm pretty sure she takes a class 15 bobbin, probably the metal ones, but do they need to be vintage ones or are the new ones ok? Sorry for the many questions, but I am very excited and don't want to break my new toy! 201-2 Born 7/26/51 |
She is a beauty.

She's a real beauty.
Takes a class 66 bobbin. Uses short shank attachments, so you can get them all day long on eBay.
So cool! Happy dance for you!!!
And post her picture here. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-103494-1.htm The Vintage Shoppe loves pictures . The 201 is a favorite. She's very pretty and apparently, a very useful machine.

Reminds me of one my Mother had when I was growing up. Remember thinking she was sewing on a toy machine !!!
That shows my age ........ |

She is a pretty snazzy lookin' model. You will just love her. Not sure about bobbins, but Billy will know.
She sure is a beaut. Be good to her or she can come live with me.
Just like a puppy, they follow you home, leave a mess behind them, (scraps, threads,) you have to pick up after them, (pins and pieces,) you need to feed them, (oil,) give them love and affection, and protect them, (NO, you may NOT borrow my 201.)
Congratulations mom. |
those sewing machines have a habit of following me home too. very nice.

I know how happy you are because I just got one. Now if my mounting hinges to get her in her cabinet would arrive! I'm hoping today is the day LOL
Beautiful!!! Go on ebay featherweight site. There are lots of parts, including bobbins and feet. Good luck!
Here is where I got parts for my mom's machine:
https://www.sewingpartsdirect.com/ |
Congratulations on a beautiful machine.
Love her! She is a nice looking machine!
Lucky you.....have fun :-D
How pretty!!!!!!!!!
Lovely acquisition... The 201 takes the common class 66 bobbins and regular needles that you can buy in your local sewing shop. You can drop the feed dogs on those, and the throat space is huge, so it can do FMQ! You can find any side clamping feet you want on Ebay-- very common. Have fun!
nice.....

If you look on the UK ebay you'll probably find bits and pieces for her,
she's lovely, |
Try Singersewingmachine.com. I have gotten feet, needles and bobbins for all the older Singer's in my collection. Fast service as I recall.

Hope this info helps. Mari from Okeechobee, Florida

You can get parts from several websites, like ebay or 221parts (http://www.221parts.com/). I have had good luck with both sites. I know there are several other websites that specialize in 221 parts, but I know these two best.
She looks like a nice machine. I hope you enjoy here. I have a 221 and a 222. I use the 221 more than the Pfaff I have. Enjoy it. |
