Stopped in at my Baby Lock dealer to pick up some supplies... This was not on my list but... How could I resist?
She will be at dealer's probably a week since a tune-up and if necessary re-wiring, were part of the purchase price!

Now for the bad part. She only has a zipper foot and 1 bobbin.
Any suggestions on where to get the rest of her attachments? I'm pretty sure she takes a class 15 bobbin, probably the metal ones, but do they need to be vintage ones or are the new ones ok?
Sorry for the many questions, but I am very excited and don't want to break my new toy!

Takes a class 66 bobbin. Uses short shank attachments, so you can get them all day long on eBay.

GGinMcKinney 03-18-2011 06:11 PM

So cool! Happy dance for you!!!

irishrose 03-18-2011 06:11 PM

Ummm... That link goes to a weight loss challenge... If I list her, will she become a Featherweight someday?

lol - good one!!!!! Congrats on new 'baby'!! I was very happy with my $5 Singer 501 find too. The new bobbins fit her fine.

MoMiMi 03-18-2011 08:48 PM

Reminds me of one my Mother had when I was growing up. Remember thinking she was sewing on a toy machine !!!
That shows my age ........

Ah thank you! Now to find where to get those!

Yooper32 03-19-2011 02:18 AM

She is a pretty snazzy lookin' model. You will just love her. Not sure about bobbins, but Billy will know.

Aurora 03-19-2011 02:18 AM

She sure is a beaut. Be good to her or she can come live with me.

olebat 03-19-2011 02:28 AM

Just like a puppy, they follow you home, leave a mess behind them, (scraps, threads,) you have to pick up after them, (pins and pieces,) you need to feed them, (oil,) give them love and affection, and protect them, (NO, you may NOT borrow my 201.)

Congratulations mom.

lovedquilts 03-19-2011 04:05 AM

those sewing machines have a habit of following me home too. very nice.

Beautiful!!! My DDIL just informed me her mother still has her Singer from the 50's or earlier. She no longer sews, is 85 and in waning health, so I expressed a desire to have the machine if it ever leaves that house. Don't know where I will put it but I will find a place....

ssgramma 03-19-2011 04:58 AM

I know how happy you are because I just got one. Now if my mounting hinges to get her in her cabinet would arrive! I'm hoping today is the day LOL

mmb195152 03-19-2011 06:03 AM

Beautiful!!! Go on ebay featherweight site. There are lots of parts, including bobbins and feet. Good luck!

Cris 03-19-2011 06:08 AM

Congratulations on a beautiful machine.

pojeda 03-19-2011 06:28 AM

Love her! She is a nice looking machine!

GramaLaura 03-19-2011 06:44 AM

Lucky you.....have fun :-D

CarrieAnne 03-19-2011 06:44 AM

How pretty!!!!!!!!!

sewbizgirl 03-19-2011 06:53 AM

Lovely acquisition... The 201 takes the common class 66 bobbins and regular needles that you can buy in your local sewing shop. You can drop the feed dogs on those, and the throat space is huge, so it can do FMQ! You can find any side clamping feet you want on Ebay-- very common. Have fun!

bluteddi 03-19-2011 06:57 AM

nice.....

all I ever get that follow me home eats, poops, and has 4 feet!

u lucky duck u!

cazann 03-19-2011 07:23 AM

If you look on the UK ebay you'll probably find bits and pieces for her,
she's lovely,

gibson1936 03-19-2011 07:42 AM

Try Singersewingmachine.com. I have gotten feet, needles and bobbins for all the older Singer's in my collection. Fast service as I recall.

ydenette 03-19-2011 07:46 AM

you can get Singer parts and bobbins on Singer.com I got a 1/4 in foot and a light bulb from there. There is also a man that speciaity in these.Dave is the real pro.www.featherweight221.com

ydenette 03-19-2011 07:47 AM

Hope this info helps. Mari from Okeechobee, Florida

caspharm 03-19-2011 07:47 AM

You can get parts from several websites, like ebay or 221parts (http://www.221parts.com/). I have had good luck with both sites. I know there are several other websites that specialize in 221 parts, but I know these two best.

She looks like a nice machine. I hope you enjoy here. I have a 221 and a 222. I use the 221 more than the Pfaff I have. Enjoy it.
