I just noticed that my "Location" say that I'm in hiding -- I'm not really. I'm in Oregon City, Or. --- just otside of Portland. Don't know how to change that. Wanted to let everyone know I'm not in hiding. |

Linda, I am part Cherokee also! My great grandmother who was 1/2 Cherokee made lots of quilts and gave them to my mother. Mom used them until they became threadbare, then threw them away. I was so sad when I found this out, but Mom didn't know any better. I would love to be your friend.

I'm from North East Ohio but would love to have a quilting buddy - how far from Independence, Ky are you? My daughter lives there
|
Hi there. Just read your post. Although I was born in New Zealand and have lived in Australia for approx. 30 years, I am part Cherokee on my Mum's side and my Dad was Northern Cheyenne. I am living a thousand light years away but would be happy to be your friend.
|
I live in Frankfort, but go to a quilt club in Lexington(Quilters Square). We all come from different directions, so come and join us. We meet the 2nd Thursday for embroidery club and on the 4th for sewing. It's free. It's a good place to make new friends. Check around there is probably a quilt guild in Richmond.
|
Hi Linda I don't live close but would love to be your online friend. I'm in the same boat. Would love to have someone close to quilt with, as I've only been sewing/quilting for a few months. I live in Florida out in the country, I'm 49 (almost the BIG 50)married, have 3 grown married children and 6 grandkids. My name is Darlene your new friend in Florida!
|
Kentucky is a long ride from Texas, but we can be on line buddies! :-D
|
Well, I live in Southwest Arkansas but I'm only a PM or e-mail away. Can always use a new friend or a long distance quilting buddy.

There is a small quilt shop on Hwy 11 coming out of Mt. Sterling towards Flemingsburg, Ky. I live in Fleming county. Don't get a lot of chances to quilt but love checking in and seeing all the beautiful quilts and the talent here is amazing. The people.......Not enough words to describe the kind caring people that gather here.

Thanks, Susan. I just did that.

I'm not what you call overly sociable. Sadly, at 62 I learned that friends are difficult to find and sometimes harder to keep. I'm not what you call lonely, just would like someone who shares my joy of quilting and giving to others. And horror or horrors, I've found only 1 quilt shop around here. Can you believe that? Just one! So, if you live around Madison Co. and would like to make acquaintances, let me know. Maybe you know where there are other quilt shops nearby. With the cost of gas, a trip to Lexington is a luxury I really can't afford these days. |
lillybeck what area of Florida are you in. I live in Ocala.
|
Join the club! I think I now have many more on-line friends than local friends. When I retired I lost touch with work friends, they're still busy with working and their lives and my best friend passed away a few years ago. Consider everyone on this site a friend.

Hi ruck9085 I'm in Hopkinsville,KY .I don't post much

Here's wishing I lived closer to you all, I don't get much of a chance to quilt lately, but I am hoping to change that soon, I am willing to be a board friend, but am to far away to have coffee in person, but can have coffee and think of all my board quilting pals, good luck with your search for a close buy quilting buddy
|
Honey, you have however many members there are on this board. Oh, I just saw you are part Cherokee... me too, my grandfathers great grandmother was Cherokee. I proudly claim that small bit of blood running through my veins.
|
WOW.. So nice to find out where others are from. I am in Great Bend, Kansas... Anyone anywhere close?

Another Ky. girl here, from far Eastern Ky. way up in the mountains in Pikeville, LOL!
I didn't realize we had so many ky girls here. I hardly know any quilters in real life, but have made some AWESOME friends on here. The internet really does make the world smaller. If anyone would like to organize a meetup or something for us Ky. girls, I'd love to help/come! I'm still a total newbie to quilting, but would love to chat anytime with anyone about quilting. |
I wish i was closer and we would have fun. The only fabric around here is the LQS and I can't afford that.

Hey, another Ky girl here. Bardstown Ky. I have never been more pleased than to have found this board. I've learned so much from all of you. I can hardly wait each nite to read all the post and look at all of the beautiful quilts on here.
I love reading all the fun things that makes us smile, I shed a tear for some of your problems, and a prayer when that is called for also. I don't know what more a friend any of you could be. My heart goes out to all you lonely souls but rest assured that you are only one click away from a dear friend here. If I can be of any help to any one here, Pm me or e-mail me. If I'm close enough to met up with any of you let me know. I'm ready for a glass of cold ice tea any time. Irene |
