looking for a pattern
I have seen a quilt that I want to make but not coming up with a pattern. The woman who has the quilt thinks it was in a magazine. It could be a pinwheel or windmills--no luck with those words. It has 6 blades but the next blade nests right next to the blade of the previous "wheel". They are not individual blocks and I think that's where I'd run into trouble trying to recreate a pattern. Anyone have a suggestion as to either a name to search or the actual pattern for this?

Can you post a photo of the quilt, it would help a lot.

Is it anything like this one? It only uses HSTs, but there is a link to the free pattern.
I can't imagine your quilt only having 6 blades. Windmill cushion |
Try Googling Tesselating quilt patterns to see if you spot it.

Maybe look for 6 pointed star quilts? There are lots on Pinterest.

Without a picture it will be hard to find the pattern.

Don't forget to scroll over to the far right to find and click on the "Upload" button. I have found that only the big red "Reply" button or "Quote" work to give me the paper clip icon to work for adding pictures. https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...p-location.jpg Some additional info regarding reducing images at post #4 and images for the scroll and upload button can be found at #5 of https://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f...d-t312607.html Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do. |
Don't forget to enlarge the pop up screen to find the upload tab which is on the far right of the window. This is what confuses a lot of posters.
And I have to select GO ADVANCED reply to find the paperclip icon to click. It is the most complicated to post pictures here then other forums. |
Could it be a One Block Wonder quilt? Those and the kaleidoscope stack and whack quilts are the main ones I think of with 6 blades in the blocks.
