THANK YOU thank you everybody...u r so helpful !!! I love the blackeye susie but its not the different size blades overlapping...I might try that one too....I knew it was in the 2007 mag. but I can t even find a site for that...I saw the one that I took the phto of,,,in a fabric shop in Va....It looked so simply that i thought I could make my own pattern....well I could but got confused as to how to construct it so thought I d better but the pattern....thank u all again !!!! you'r the bestr !!!!

If you go to page 2 of that section, there's another version called Whirling Pinwheel with slightly different blades.

If it is a 16" finished blocks, why do you have to make it in four parts? I would try cutting a 16½" background square and applique the parts directly to it. That's just me.

I love the quilt but I am not a fan of the black stark center. I think I would go with a softer brown.

There is another called Townhouse Pinwheels..same pattern. It is in The Quilter Magazine, January 2008.
