I have read somewhere that you can use two top threads and one bobbin thread and if you quilt from the back the stitching will look like hand quilting. Do any of you quilters have any info on the technique? Thank you.

I have two on top and one on the bottom, doesn`t look like hand quilting to me. I use it to hem kids quilts that I know will be washed a lot, because it holds the hem real good. I never sewed on the bottom to see how it looks , but in the hem it looks like an X.

in the manuel for my machine it says to loosen the top tension a bit and use an invisiblr thread in the bobbin for a hand quilted look, i've never tried it

Isnt there a machine that is supposed to have a stitch that looks like a handquilted stitch? I think its pretty spendy.. can remember the name.

I remember reading on the Janome forum (in the Yahoo group) that there was a way of setting the stitch to look like hand stitching. I haven't belonged to that group for a long, long time but perhaps someone on here does and could get it out.
