I have the brother CS6000i which has an adjustable serpentine stitch. I use it quite often instead of SITD.

Two of my quilting buddies have the dreamweaver and the serpintine stitch is awesome. Wish I had room to put one in my sewing room!

I have three machines that do decorative stitches, what does the serpinetine stitch look like? Is it the one that looks like a lightening bolt and is very tight zig zag?

My Brother EX660 has it too. Not as expensive as the Janome's, etc. but the stitch is adjustable. I use it for charity quilts too.

I saw this post yesterday (while at work😜) and at the time I didn't know anything about this stitch. Wow! It's really pretty! I just got a Babylock Crescendo so the first thing I did yesterday when I got home was see if it had this stitch and it does! I love it! That stitch looks fabulous! I can't wait to use it on a project! 😀

I hate to appear stupid, but I do not know what a serpentine stitch is. Please, will someone explain this stitch to me????

Stevensgirl 11-21-2014 08:40 AM

Karen Mc you're not stupid! I didn't know what it was either. Just do an online search for serpentine stitch quilting and you will find plenty of examples.

My Sapphire 960Q has that stitch and so many other pretty quilting stitches. I use most of them in quilting one thing or another. Big bed and lots of bells and whistles. $2400. Viking

I have a stupid question too. ;) What is the difference between fully adjustable serpentine and a "regular" serpentine? I have a Janome 6600 and it has a serpentine. Why would you want it adjusted?
