You need to wet the eraser and maybe use a little dish detergent. just a tad. You can also try to dampen a rag then run the hot iron on it. sometimes just needs little extra elbow grease.

I tried it on my iron yesterday with high hopes but it didn't remove the very thin layer of "something" that's on the iron plate. I'm thinking it must be starch?
