You can do a lot of tweaking to your photos before you print them - the ones that look the most "real" on a quilt actually look way too saturated and "unreal" on your computer screen. If you use the scanned image you see on your computer without applying any tweaking, it can look faded and washed out on the quilt.

I have used a few different brands, and Printable Treasures is good, but Jacquard Print on Cotton is very good, too.

The last time I was shopping for printable cotton, (about a year ago, I think?) I couldn't find any of them that didn't recommend dry cleaning after printing. I wonder if they have a new formulation that doesn't require it, now.

Can someone tell me the ratio of fabric glue to water to "seal" the ink in? I have always been hesitant to try photo fabric thinking the picture won't hold over time. This seems like a good idea. Also, do you simply paint this glue mix over the photo with a paint brush?

You can buy paper backed fabric ready for printing. It's alot less trouble than preparing fabric yourself.

I prefer the Miracle Fabric Sheets from C Jenkins - they have a much softer hand.

Buy EQS Printable cotton lawn or satin cotton. It can be bought in packs of sheets or a roll. It is so easy to put through the printer (use general print setting, not best) - must be inkjet, not laser - then you rinse and let dry. I have used it many times without any failures.

I prefer the cotton satin as it has slightly more 'body' to it.

Hi Dan..recently did this for our softball girls..I found that if you change your pictures to black&white..it looks alot better than color. I bought the pre-made sheets at the fabric store and they are washable

here is the link below that I followed, I just wiped it on with my hand to lightly cover the picture, mine turned out fine. Just be sure to flow all the directions on your printable fabric, let it dry and then a light coating of the fabric as follows, read down to the bottom of the post.
