I learn so much from this board ... do any of you prefer one brand over another and why? I want to do a quilt for my Mom who is 89 with all her kids pictures on it.

There is a fabric called Printed Treasures that you can buy at Hobby Lobby, Michael's or Joann's. Your LQS may have it also. You use it like regular paper and put it through your home printer. Washes up great too.

Jacquard make good printable fabric with instruction and already backed. You can buy it off the roll or in packets that are A4 in size.
I've tried a number of brands and this one gives the best result for the best price. Make sure your printer is adjusted to suit the printing. |
If you buy "just fabric" (though why you would when it is already prepared for you in neat little packages!) be sure to get PFD (prepared for dying) fabric as it has no finishes or sizing or whatever that will affect what you're doing. Please, please keep us posted and let us know what we can do to advise you!!!!!!

i just bought some computer printer fabric at joanns and printed pic of grandaughter on for her quilt it works great. very easy to do read instructions

I've used "Photo Fabric".The colors came out great. It's kind of pricey. There is a 120" roll thst you can cut to size. I feel there is less waste that way over the 8 1/2 x 11" sheets. Good luck.
It's nice to see a man wanting to go this far for the one he loves! Vicky |
I prefer the EQ Printables. You might find it at the local quilt shop or their website: http://www.electricquilt.com/Shop/Printing/Fabric.asp. It lasts.
