I have been studying this subject, too. I really want to do this. Now we have Adobe Photoshop Elements and I find out our Cannon printer is not an inkjet. It won't work on something I want to last. So bummed. So make sure you are not using a Cannon.

If you do use the type that you iron on, check to see if you need to reverse the image before printing.

Go buy Sew-On "Printed Treasures" Inkjet Printable Fabric by Dritz. Put the sheet into the printer, hit print. Wait 5 minutes. Peel off back, submerge in running cold water for 2 minutes (to get off excess ink) and lay it on a towel to dry. A glass casserole dish works for submersing. I just did 10 prints last night and they came out great. I heard that the June Tailor brand doesn't work well.

What a terrific husband you are! The fabric sold for printing with ink jet printers works very well. Just be sure to read the instructions and you'll be fine. I have June Tailor in white and ecru and both work beautifully.

i am not good enough yet to suggest a fabric for you, but i wanted you to know that i think this is going to be a very lovely gift for you wife, she will be so surprised!!! what a good hubby you are!!!

I used a Canon last night and it worked well. Just don't use a laser jet or a big Xerox-type machine.

i have used white muslin material and bubble jet and i have used Printed Treasures you can buy it at quilt store (joanns has it) the printed treasures quality of the picture is a clearer and brighter picture also after using the printed treasure paper i used Bubble jet rinse on the pictures and laid them out on a towel to dry the pressed them with a warm iron

What a sweetheart you are for doing such a special thing for your wife.

I had issues when I printed photos with Bubblejet Set; I used the offwhite fabric I was using for the blocks in my quilt. I called the company, and they told me to use 200 thread-count fabric to print photos on my ink-jet printer. Follow instructions for treating fabric carefully. I used the rinse recommended but used a hair dryer to dry fabric photos. I printed sepia photos; that was causing my problems. I got my fabric at Hancock's and that fabric worked well.

There appears to be much advise for you on the QB. What a wonderful idea you are a keeper, I would say. Not sure if anyone said to ask at the quilt shops.
