Poly may be too warm for him. I'd do all WnN with the extra addition of a poly. It doesn't have to be too thick. Also backing her half with fleece would add warmth.

With the differing concepts that have come out on this thread ... you might want to check with the person it's intended with, to ensure you are making what they want and would use.

II wouldn't want to go to all the work it'd take and then discover that she really wanted the Chemical Warfare version! :)

OMG !!! You made my day with this website. I wonder how heavy it is with a layer of charcoal in it???

The more I think about this... the more I'm laughing.

That website needs to be sent out to my friends.

And could only think .. You're joking! a quilt isn't going to save any marriage! :)

What you have described would seem as though you put a light/non-warm batting on one 1/2, and the other 1/2 you pile it thick with warmth!!

That could make for a thick/thin appearance. Also difference batts quilt up different for a different finished look.

Would flannelette and polar fleece be close to the same final look, yet give the different warmth levels?

This makes sense to me. Lol. Better than what I thought about how could a quilt save a marriage. :D

I have two to three quilts on my side over the sheet and hubby has one or two. Its a struggle when we are in hotels, but I usually fold a blanket in my side only.

I like the Book of blankets idea though.
