I say orange, looks more complete and finishing.

I prefer the green - it blends in better.

I like both for the reasons given above. Have you tried an orange outer border? Whatever you chose the quilt will be really pretty

Guess we haven't been much help! The responses are so split. I agree with Benndm: "I like the green. I think the orange is too bold and doesn't go with the rest of the fabric. I think the green blends everything together and my eye is drawn to the cute animals."

Yes, Orange!

The light green is very soothing. The orange pops. so it depends on what result you want. They are both nice but i like the orange the best.

Absolutely the ORANGE. The green is sort of washed out....the orange is perky and interesting but I agree it should be narrow. The green just doesn't do anything for the rest of the quilt. So far the quilt is looking gorgeous.

Here's my 2 cents worth. I'd see how it looked with a 3/4" finished(cut at 1-1/4") of the orange & use the orange
as the binding also. I tend to use the same fabric as an inner border & binding. If trying something a little diff., I'll
lay it out & look it over, walk away, then look again, 2-3 times before I cut. Hope this helps.

I think it is a matter of personal taste. I think the orange changes the entire appearance of the quilt.

I have already voted for the green but would like to ask you to post what you decide on.

Well Judykay I've decided to go with the orange one. I cut it at 2" and it will finish at 1.5". I will post when I get all four sides on. I'm trying to figure out how to miter the borders. Sewed all strips together of course. I have a story with this quilt all I can say it's a good thing I can laugh at myself....I'll update later today or tomorrow.

The orange jumps out and seems too shocking for the rest of the quilt.

I like a smaller orange, so it's just like a accent. The green seems to blend in too much for me.

I like the orange and I agree that it should be no more than maybe a 1" border. The green tends to fade out.

I like the orange but it seems to clash with the border fabric or is too bright an orange. Maybe if you have made it narrow it will work fine.

Both are beautiful but I really like the orange. I love bright though. Either would work equally well - which suits your (or the recipient's) personality? Is the recipient a quiet, calm person or a bundle of energy? Green if quiet and calm but orange if a bundle of energy. Just my thoughts.

Ok so I decided on the orange. The top is made but not quilted and guess what I don't like it. I think I should have run the stripe fabric different direction but even then I don't think I would have liked it any better. Not sure why, oh hum guessing I'm going to have to make another baby quilt. Good thing baby isn't due until end of October, only thing is we're in the middle of harvest. Maybe I will feel differently about this quilt once I quilt it. But here it is

The quilt is beautiful! A lot of work went into it. Maybe you just need a little break from it.
