Which middle border help
2 Attachment(s)
Hi, I can't decide which middle border to pick the light green or bright orange. The stripe is the first then either light green or orange then the animal print for outer border. So what do you like in the middle the light green or orange. Thanks bunches for all your input. Oh and I apologize now if my pics show up large....

I like the green as the eye continues going out to the last border. Hugs

I like the orange because it adds a "pop" of color. (I may have been watching too many home decorating shows......)
I like the orange. It gives the quilt a pop of color as well as giving it an overall rich look.
Cute quilt BTW! |
I agree with orange!
I like the orange.
I like the orange.
I like the orange as it makes everything pop
I like the orange too! Also like the bigger pictures. Easier to see.
I like the orange, but I think it should be a narrow border.
I think the green looks more consistent with the quilt. The orange stands out too much.
I love the Orange!
Definitely orange. It really pops that happy fabric. I agree that it should be very narrow.
Ok, if it is the orange my next question would be how narrow, the stripe border is 2" finished the outside border will be 4" finished, so would a 1.5" finish orange be the right width then?
Green is my choice.
I like the green. The orange "pops" a little too much for my taste. But it will be cute either way. :) If you go with the orange, maybe just a very narrow strip of it would be an idea.
I like the orange also. - at the most 1.5 inch border of orange.
Actually I would not put in a middle border. On the first picture I didn't even notice the green it was so light, and I liked the animal print with the stripe. Having said that... if you choose to use a middle border I'd go with the orange, but very narrow, like cut an inch border and then you'd have a 1/2 " border to pop!
The green on causes my eye to move across
That's a tough one. I like them both!
I like the orange--so bright and cheerful !
I like the green. The orange kind of makes your eye stop there. Maybe use it as your binding to finish it off and bring your eye all the way out thru the last border.
I like the orange and I would make it very narrow. I've been adding 1/4" stop borders in pop colors on my quilts and really like the look.
i like the light green, adn I asked my 4 year old granddaughter - she likes the light green also.
I like the orange. Would love to see it when it is done! Looks cute.

my thoughts too |
Yep. Orange.

I like the orange. It highlights the big border and frames the rest of the quilt very pleasantly.
I like the green. I think the orange is too bold and doesn't go with the rest of the fabric. At first glance all I see is orange. I think the green blends everything together and my eye is drawn to the cute animals.
Normally I would say the orange, because I love bright colours, but in this case I find it jarring, rather than a "pop" of colour. The light green flows better with the other fabrics IMHO... cute quilt & fabrics!
Orange also.
light green
I love the orange, but if it were me I would make the orange border narrower. Great fabric choices!

The green is just what the quilt needs. It carries the quilt to the last border without interruption. The orange stops the flow. froggyintexas

Okay, my turn. I like the outer border. Have you thought of not having any middle border? Try putting just the animal border against the stripes, and see what you think. If not that, then I think I'd go with the orange, but narrower.
I like the orange. It seems to frame the center squares and off sets the border print. I find the light green blends with the background of both prints which makes the quilt print and border compete against each other. Nice work.

It depends if you want a "blend in border" or a "stand out border". Personally I like a "stand out border", meaning the orange. Good luck in your decision. Sophie

I agree with the orange and also agree that it needs to be narrowed down a bit. A child will love this quilt!
