Most beautiful pattern ever

Wat is your most beautiful pattern ever.

I think DJ is one of the greatest. :)

lynnie 08-25-2012 08:07 AM

I just ordered the victorian table runner and i love it

mawluv 08-25-2012 08:08 AM

Dear Jane gets my vote!

bearisgray 08-25-2012 08:12 AM

Dear Jane (Jane A. Stickle quilt) is actually a collection of sampler blocks.

ckcowl 08-25-2012 08:21 AM

there are so many how can you actually choose? i love 'storm at sea' blocks...i've seen some awe inspiring pineapple block quilts...there are some beautiful log cabin blocks...baltimore album quilts will take your breath away- I LOVE LONESTAR & MARINER'S COMPASS quilts...there are $100,000 whole cloth quilts....
impossible to only have 1 (all time favorite) mainly because i may see one that takes my breath away & believe in the moment that is the most beautiful quilt i've ever seen- then a month later see one somewhere else that knocks my socks off! :D

Neesie 08-25-2012 08:25 AM

I think it totally depends upon the fabric. I've seen simple patterns, turned into gorgeous quilts. I've also seen wonderful patterns, made to look hideous, with the wrong fabrics/colors. Guess it's true that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

crafty pat 08-25-2012 08:40 AM

There are so many I love I would hate to have to choose just one. I agree with Neesie it is how it is used and the artistic use of colors and fabrics that make a beautiful quilt.

Gramie bj 08-25-2012 09:37 AM

The one I just started! Even if my opinon changes befor I finish it!

Grandma Peg 08-25-2012 09:38 AM

Right this minute I have to say I love New York Beauties. I made some blocks years ago and I signed up for a paper piecing class so I can relearn to make them. I just think they are gorgeous. I'm sure there are so many more beautiful blocks out there, but I'm thinking about the ones that I made. I think paper piecing makes blocks look stunning, but I don't do it. That's why I'm taking this class. I really want to get into paper piecing. I want to be accurate, also.

I agree, N-E-E-sie!:)

leatheflea 08-25-2012 10:39 AM

Humm...I'd have to say the Indiana Wreath quilts are my favorite, can you buy a pattern, I'm not sure.

spokanequilter 08-25-2012 10:40 AM

I have always loved the Storm a Sea block - so versatile...

I agree completely! When asked which is my favorite, it is either the one I'm working on, one I just finished or one that I'll be starting soon. Though I have to admit to being partial to anything with an 8 pointed star! :)

Jingle 08-25-2012 05:59 PM

Way to many for me to just pick on.

COYOTEMAGIC 08-25-2012 06:05 PM

Yellow Brick Road or D9P. Easy and I like the way they come out

Sorry, what is DJ?

Wantaquilt 08-25-2012 06:30 PM

I think DJ is a Dear Jane quilt. Just guessing from reading the board a lot. I don't think I could pick a most beautiful pattern. I am partial to so many that I have seen and know that most are way beyond me to make.

susie-susie-susie 08-25-2012 07:26 PM

There are too many to pick just one. I have a bucket list of several that I think are just beautiful, but Dear Jane is near the top of the list.
Sue

lfstamper 08-25-2012 07:27 PM

Too many choices to pick one...lol.

BETTY62 08-25-2012 07:30 PM

It would be impossible for me to pick just one. For me, it changes rather often.

Becky Crafts 08-26-2012 03:43 AM

My personal favorite is the Amazon Star, but I'm not making it yet. Have to work up to it! LOL!

Arleners 08-26-2012 03:50 AM

The most beautiful pattern ever is my next quilt!

gollytwo 08-26-2012 04:02 AM

Probably the Sawtooth Star - a nice simple block: 4 flying geese around a square - any solid colour on a white background - navy blue's my current favorite.

joyce j 08-26-2012 04:16 AM

I have no favorite, because I love all of them . joyce j

katsewnsew 08-26-2012 04:27 AM

I love them all! Just wish I had time to do them all!

Jackie Spencer 08-26-2012 04:36 AM

There are so many, I love Log Cabin Blocks, and what Dunster did with them is beautiful!!

nygal 08-26-2012 04:44 AM

I have on my To Do list A New York Beauty. Some that I have seen are breathtaking. It is hard just to name one.

GemState 08-26-2012 05:02 AM

If I had to pick one it would be Carpenter's Wheel......or Labyrinth........or.........

Latrinka 08-26-2012 05:11 AM

I guess I would have to say the Dresden, but there are also many others that I love too!

MimiBug123 08-26-2012 05:11 AM

It is either the one I'm working on, the one I'm about to start or one of the 10,000 swirling around in my head. My neice (who teaches special ed) told me the other day that I was developing midlife ADD. I don't think there is such a thing, but she seemed pretty sure!

Jennifer 08-26-2012 05:48 AM

I would say the Carpenter's Wheel is my favorite these past two weeks. It must be because my mother in law and I are planning on making pink and brown ones one our sewcation at the end of September.

dc989 08-26-2012 06:12 AM

A few years ago we were at a QS and I sat through the bed turning event. It was so well done. The last quilt was a Grandma's Flower Garden in 30's fabric with a diamond shape path through it done in darker Nile green. People actually gasped when the quilt was revealed and several of us were crying (esp me). It was absolutely stunning. The background was pristine, the hexs were bright and the path absolutely made the quilt. The handquilting was tiny and exact. I have never seen anything so beautiful in my life and doubt anything could top it. I don't recall who the maker was, but someone inherited an absolute treasure.

DJ. I just finished the blocks for one, it took a year and I love it as much now as when I started. Here's a picture from the first time I laid all the blocks out together. Since then I've changed some of the colors. Didn't have room for all the triangles. I also love NY Beauty and Mariner's Compass. DJ turned me into a paper piecer.

I love the DJ in the brights, hadn't thought I wanted to do one but guess I will have to change my mind. One of my favorites is the One Block Wonder - no 2 ever look alike.

sunny42539 08-26-2012 07:27 AM

I like Slanted Diamonds. They are pretty and easy to make.

BellaBoo 08-26-2012 07:28 AM

When I see a Drunkard's Path pattern in any variation I think that's my favorite. I like circles and arcs in quilts.

gramquilter2 08-26-2012 10:15 AM

The one I am working on NOW-
I think choosing fabric you love always make the most beautiful pattern ever.

Chay, I love your DJ the colors are fantastic.
