I found this Youtube video that shows the Brother dream frame. Most of it is shown with quilts that fit within the width of the frame; not sure how easy it would be to do a large quilt as you would need to re-clamp quite a bit. It does appear that the stitch regulator is for Brother sewing machines only. Since the bobbin doesn't hold as much as a longarm, you would be changing the bobbin more often with this setup. I also wonder about tension issues with free-motion; tension tends to be more of an issue with domestic machines used on a frame setup. Usually you can resolve the tension issues, but you would probably want to be sure of that before purchasing. Anyway, looks interesting for small spaces. Here is the link:

I use a small wooden frame that's easy to dismantle and works with my sewing machine (a Kenmore from the 70's, so it has a bit more throat space than some newer machines). Although mine was hand-made by someone now retired, there's a similar system available (which I haven't actually seen). Here's the web site:

Thanks, Watson |
There are several machines that move not the frames or fabric. The machines are on rollers. The frames I have seen are Graces. Good luck.

I have a blockrockit that I am very pleased with. If you have any questions just send me a pm.

I have the opportunity to try an Avante Handi Quilter so I may do that. I'm still in the research phase...not ready to buy yet, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to go and see how it works.
I am going to a quilt show in June so I'm sure there will be a few there as well. Thanks for the information so far. Watson |
I once owned both the Sweet Sixteen and the Avante with PS. I eventually sold the Sweet Sixteen as once I learned the PS, I exclusively want to work on the Avante. I can't live with out my Avante and PS now.
