All I do is sandwich my quilts with safety pins. I am afraid if I use spray basting I would ruin my hardwood floors. I also don't know what effect it may have on my Cockatiel.

I like the June Taylor Basting Spray. I can get it at JoAnn's. Very little odor and sticks well but releases easily for moving.
There is also a tutorial some where about using Elmers School glue that you dilute and make a spray out of to use for basting. I haven't tried it yet (lost the thread and haven't searched). I think it would be much better environmentally if you wanted to search for the instructions. peace |
I have used 505, 101, and june tailor with success, they all seem to be about the same for me. I use all outside because i don't like the smell of any of them, they all irritate me inhalant wise. The only one I have that I haven't tried is sullivans, but I am sure its comparable. 505 is the most expensive in the batch. I got all of them from joanns online. I think mettler just came out with one as well

Elmer's School Glue, for basting! I've no desire to breathe spray glue, into my lungs.

505 for me. I have not tried the newest one, though, that is supposed to be more web-like with less overspray (can't remember the name).

I use the brand sold at Walmart. It works fine.

I have tried 3 different sprays. I am using 505 never to go back to the others. 505 is the best I feel.

I've never used elmer glue or 505. June Taylor basting spray from Joann's is what I've used for a few years and I'm very pleased with it.
|
I've only used 505 and really like it

Elmers glue and 505.
