I, too, would like to express my appreciation to the moderators and admin. Yes, we get cranky when we have to accept change. But I think I am starting to get the hang of it!

Sad thing is, it sounds as if a lot of old members have ALREADY moved on ... !!!

Changes aren't easy - and we do get stuck in our ways! I must say I was getting a little panicky (is that a word?) when I could not access the board at all for a day or so. I do love this board and appreciate all that goes on behind the scenes. And it is FREE to us. Thank you!!!!!

Murphy 11-03-2011 12:09 PM

With the passing of time and continual looking and learning we will like this new format. Lots of hard work went into this; perhaps we can all help make it bigger and better. Thanks to all who work so hard.

Woodster 11-03-2011 12:11 PM

Learning something new is good for the mind! Thanks, Moderators, for keeping our brains from getting soggy.

lizzyq 11-03-2011 01:35 PM

Is there a tutorial on how to navigate the new QB?

Kitsie 11-03-2011 01:46 PM

Would like to add my thanks to the Board for the new site. Not easy for you and not easy for us! But it will be great and I will stick with you! Some great new features and some not so, but appreciate you nonetheless!

Kit

Happy to be here again today. Thank you to all who run the site...I know it will get better....so, I'll keep coming back! gotta chat with all my friends.

GGJudy 11-03-2011 01:57 PM

Wow, I hit the control + button several times and got rid of those ugly brown side bars. The type is now huge, but extremely easy to read!

sew1 11-03-2011 02:53 PM

I'm learning more each day. We will get this figured out come h--- or high water.

noveltyjunkie 11-03-2011 03:17 PM

I really appreciate the work the volunteers do, but that does not mean I like everything they do.

Thanks for trying your best everyone. But I don't think that the changeover was done particualrly well. Not telling us it was coming until two days prior was an interesting decision and, in my view, a wrong one.

But the best thing the mods do here is to keep spam and mischievous posts cleared away. That sort of housekeeping is tedious and thankless so--- thanks!

QuiltingNinaSue 11-03-2011 03:22 PM

Yes, the techs have worked hard to "re-make" the whole board and it will take some time to learn the different things; I was very surprised they could "do" it so quickly!!! Patricej has been very patient with me, as it took me two and alf hours to log into the "new" site. By then, I was too tired to appreciate the new look, so I shut down and went to bed. They did remove all the old and redid all the "rooms" & arrangements. Sometimes it takes several trys on a new quilt pattern, so just hang in there. It is a great site, nicely managed, and I still love it. Congrads to all admin who worked so hard on this site.

bigbrownowl 11-03-2011 04:30 PM

I love the new look. I am really grateful to all the mods for the work they do, and the hard work they have put in to make the new board works so well, so quickly.

Keep up the good work!

running1 11-03-2011 04:38 PM

changes

I, too, want to thank all who have patience and the ability to make things better. I'm hoping all those who understand the ins-and-outs of the new QB will continue to share with those of use who don't figure these things out as quickly!
I really like the "preview" ability... haven't had time to figure out much else, yet... Still LOVE the "board"...

mcw1947 11-03-2011 05:53 PM

Thx. For a new way of enjoying this forum.....there is a learning curve.....but not impossible....I have learned so much from here. Kudos abound !

Thats to the Mods

I know I was one of the voices last night casting my doubts and confusions (and I work with computer systems on a regular basis) and after a long day of no board and I got frustrated after a long day. So this morning was a fresh cup of coffee and slowly starting poking around. It's getting there, I've also told others last night if they need help I will do my best to help you get moving around. Maybe that will give the Mods on here a little bit of breathy room if people have someone else they can ask.

Board is starting to settle now and it is a little bit easier to find things. Thanks to all the Mods.

Sheila_H 11-03-2011 06:03 PM

I've already had a few come to me so I'm still open to helping others try and figure things out

For your bookmarks go to the top of the screen under Settings - about halfway down you will see under subscriptions theres a heading marked Bookmarks everything should be in there.

N.J.linda 11-03-2011 06:36 PM

AAARRRGGGHHHH!!! I hate change. I loved the old site better, it was a relazing way to end the day. Now I'm just frustrated, and can't find anything. Oh well so much improvements, now I have to find a new passtime.

georgiat 11-03-2011 06:44 PM

I agree I love this group and have no plans on leaving. So far I have had no trouble finding my way around the new format. My thanks to all of you for your hard works.

If we don't grow, we stagnate.

SnowQuilt 11-03-2011 08:14 PM

I agree I love this site and appreciate you all.  :)

Quilting Angel 11-03-2011 10:01 PM

I really did like the other one better, but know we will all get use to this with time. What are truly miss though is in our past newsletters we had Main, Pictures, classified, general chit chat, and now the only thing in the newsletter is "main". Miss the other ones.

Jim 11-03-2011 10:51 PM

I add my support to the moderators as well...change isnt always easy and I know the changes made are best for the quilting board...kinks happen and will be correct as time goes on..thanks again for keeping the board great.

justflyingin 11-03-2011 11:26 PM

I think it is beautiful!

katigirl 11-03-2011 11:58 PM

I used to like that everything was in certain categories posted for a particular date. Now it seems like you have to go through hundreds of postings. Just don't have that much time to do it.

I think most people just want to be able to get on and go but after a little while this will seem just like the old way.Great job moderators and please be patient with us.

I am still trying to find myself as well. I want to add my thanks for everyone who keeps this site going. Thanks you every one.

lpsewing 11-04-2011 01:13 AM

I very much enjoy this site,I would now be lost without it.
Please keep up the terrific job.
Changes are never easy but sometimes the fear of change is the bigger issue.
Thank you ALL !!!

SunlitenSmiles 11-04-2011 03:25 AM

trying to get used to all the changes.......i trust that there was a good reason for the change.....i am a trusting person
did we end up with spellcheck?

jpmaroni 11-04-2011 03:47 AM

This version on my computer is a little slower, but I love the format better. Will just have to update the old computer! Many thanks for all the work.

patchsamkim 11-04-2011 04:01 AM

Growing to like it a bit more each day...as I have time to learn more about it...once I could get the font larger to read it made me a lot happier!

Thank-you to all the moderators for the Quilting Board!

Blinkokr 11-04-2011 04:52 AM

Thanks to all of you who have put so much time into trying to make things better, people seem to hate change, but if they think of it as a challenge they will adjust.
Have a Blessed day all and thanks again
Ellen

franc36 11-04-2011 07:50 AM

I'm really enjoying this new format and learning things each day. I still don't get around as well as I'd like; but I am so excited about being able to change font, font size, and color. I had never learned to add smiley faces to my posts. Now I can.

AnitaSt 11-04-2011 08:54 AM

I agree....thanks to everyone involved in updating our Board and adding so many new functions. I'm still learning and checking it out, but I especially love the Albums feature! Many thanks for all the work it takes to spoil us to using this wonderful free site!

Wintersewer 11-04-2011 11:09 AM

Changes that drive people away in droves are NOT "for the best". I don't know why all the changes were made, but they were not well thought out and were a big mistake....as time will tell.

."..change isnt always easy and I know the changes made are best for the quilting board..."

Bebwee 11-04-2011 11:36 AM

I just bought a new book and thought about the changes we are seeing on the board -- the title of the book, "Change is Good.....You go First". LOL!

grandma13 11-04-2011 01:00 PM

I really appreciate all the information I find using the Quilting Board. It is a little frustrating getting used to change, but I think it will be great if we are patient and give it some time to find our way around.
