My congratulations and support to all the people who run this Board!

You did a wonderful job in the past and obviously have grown up from the previous version of this site.
I see how hard these changes are for members... sorry
But I do understand how really hard it is for all of you who is working here for us, who is trying to do the right thing for all the quilters here and I want to send you mine thank you for keeping up with time and our needs.

THANK YOU!

JSNOMORE 11-02-2011 01:36 AM

I think it will just take a little time to get used to the new forum. We get stuck in how we used to do things . So far I have figured out most of it. Still browsing around. I think most people just want to be able to get on and go but after a little while this will seem just like the old way.Great job moderators and please be patient with us.

SueDor 11-02-2011 01:46 AM

The look is great! I agree with JSNOMORE that we need to get use to the new ways of doing things and please be patient with us.

JenniePenny 11-02-2011 02:40 AM

I give my thanks also. In a few weeks, all the members will be well adjusted to the format and finding all the enhancements to be
wonderful and innovative instead of foreign and bad.

brit_kitty 11-02-2011 02:56 AM

My thanks also to the lovely people who run this site I know too well what a time consuming job it can be. I'm relatively new to this site but have found so much valuable information. I'm loving the new site, change always takes a while, best is to take a little while and just browse around just like we all do when we first discover a new forum.

QuiltnNan 11-02-2011 03:29 AM

thanks :)

brookemarie19 11-02-2011 03:33 AM

I think the change will be nice once everyone understands it. I am having a few issues, but I think they are just bugs or glitches that have to be fixed.

dd55 11-02-2011 03:34 AM

there is always an adjustment period with change. i like the new look and am able to find most things. thank you for all your hard work!!

emerald46 11-02-2011 03:43 AM

lol..you get what you pay for..so we will adjust or move on.

susie-susie-susie 11-02-2011 04:12 AM

Change is always hard. I'm enjoying hovering over a post great, then I can decide if I want to read it or if I have already read it. It
saves a lot of time. I think everyone just have to give it some time and practice. I agree that the print is a little small.
Sue

orangeroom 11-02-2011 04:14 AM

The print is REALLY small. What are the odds that management will hear the people and respond by increasing the font size?

azwendyg 11-02-2011 04:17 AM

Thank you for taking such good care of us on this site. Your work is very much appreciated!

I could become better adjusted to the new format if I could SEE it.
I too give my heartfelt thanks to the Board for all their efforts for so long and for so many. Although I didn't think the old format needed much help, they went to some great effort to create this new one. However, the avatar pics and the print are WAY too small. That's not something I can 'adjust' to very well.

Oh goodie, I just noticed that I'm a "SUPER MEMBER"...what did I do to deserve that??

NancyG 11-02-2011 05:45 AM

There is definitely a learning curve here, but I'm catching on quite quickly and am enjoying the "new" QB. I would also like to thank those who have volunteered their time and energy to getting our QB up and running so efficiently. It is a place I truly enjoy coming to everyday. Thank you again!!

dakotamaid 11-02-2011 05:59 AM

Everything has it's learning curve. Let's be patient.:) Missed ya all yesterday!

Dandish 11-02-2011 06:02 AM

Yes, thank you all! I've just started poking around, but so far I love it. I especially love the "hover" feature - where if you put your cursor over a thread title you can read the first several words of the post - saves a lot of time in going into threads that really don't grab my interest when I'm running short on time. Thanks so much!

judykay 11-02-2011 06:03 AM

Please have patience with us, all of seem to be stuck with liking the old and not wanting to take time to adjust to the new (myself included) but I am sure as time passes and we get use to the new site we will be back to our old selves and appreciate your hard work and effort to make the site better.

Have a wonderful day and try to stay optimistic about all the posts it just seems like it is very overwhelming to us but we will get use to it eventually.

Jingle 11-02-2011 06:04 AM

It will take time to get use to the changes. Old site was easier to use.

On tool bar at the top of your browser window there should be a row that says "file, edit, view, favorites...etc" Click on view, follow the drop down to "zoom" and increase to 125% (or larger, if you wish). The 125% should just about fit the page to your screen and the font is very easy to see. :) Have fun!

ndlurker 11-02-2011 06:07 AM

I like the looks of the new site also. The print could be a little larger for those of us with "old eyes". My pics come up nice and large, and I like the way they look.
Cindy

EagarBeez 11-02-2011 06:14 AM

I thank all those involved in bringing this message board to life. I am looking around and getting used to this. I am liking what I see, and posts get posted quicker then having a lag. Thank you Moderators

I am having the opposite problem...at 100% the print is fine but the QB is so large I have to scroll side to side to read the entire posting. If I go to 75% then some words are scrambled up. Anyone know why I am having this problem? Thanks in advance!

Also, not that it matters but my feedback score doesn't show up...just wondering????

charity-crafter 11-02-2011 06:32 AM

Yes, i have to agree. The desingers and brains behind updates have a hard job. Keeping the site secure and updating to more modern things...but dog gone it...I hate new things sometimes. If I had it my way, I'd still be using windows 95. But, I'm sure that eventually I'll get the hang of the new way and learn to love all the hard work that you guys have put into it.

I really like that I can put the mouse over the topic and read the first couple lines to see if I actually want to read the post. That's nice.

Val in IN 11-02-2011 06:32 AM

I'm sorry that people are wanting to leave the board over the change. I guess I just feel differently. I had to learn to cut , piece, applique, quilt, bind and label. I've had to learn how to use different sewing machines. We all learn how to do different things EVERYDAY. This is no different. It will take some time to get used to it, that's all. Please give these changes a chance.

alwayslearning 11-02-2011 06:37 AM

Thanks for all the hard work that went into this! And thanks for starting this thread.

QuiltnLady1 11-02-2011 06:45 AM

Change is always hard -- and the folks who make radical changes are very brave. I agree, thanks for all of the work. It was a major job.

That said, there are always problems with new software (having spent many years of my life writing and testing software I am something of a expert). The developers may be able to fix some of the problems we have, but only if we let them know what the issues are. Once things settle down, the moderators might start a thread or a group for us to report issues so there are not so many random messages documenting problems.

Baloonatic wrote: Oh goodie, I just noticed that I'm a "SUPER MEMBER"...what did I do to deserve that??

Sierra responds: I think you took my glory.... I'm not even on the membership list anymore :(

But now I see that I am a Senior Member! I'm confused. But I am the queen of the electronically challenged! Love this site!

Oh no! I've edited my post after seeing my avatar, but have to find the new way to repost!

waddley 11-02-2011 06:52 AM

I'm kind of new here, but I would like to add my thanks.

The owners, moderators and developers work very hard to make this a comfortable and safe place for us to come to. I don't think most people know what a thankless job the moderators have and the ones here do a wonderful job.

Change is hard sometimes, but a necessary fact of life. I will learn my way around the new board in short order just as I did when I first got here.

It seems that the only things that are giving me problems has been with the fonts and background
color. I trust that these type of things will be worked out in short order.

You can increase the print as large as you want, on pretty much any forum or website including this one, easily.

If you have a scroll wheel on your mouse, hold the CTRL button and scroll the wheel to make it larger/smaller.
If you don't have a scroll wheel, hold the CTRL button and press the + (plus) key to enlarge, press the - (minus) key to make smaller. Easy/peasy! :)

Pink Dogwood 11-02-2011 06:54 AM

Thank You for this update. Looks nice and modern. Now we will be challenged to learn how to get around the site and we will do it. It is Wonderful. Thanks for all your hard work.

Kim Bohannon 11-02-2011 06:57 AM

I too would like to thank the people who are working so hard to keep this board up and runnin, that have upgraded our us to a new home... I like the new home, is very pretty! The changes are a litte confusing at first, but I like what I see and I love having my own blog! I am sure that very soon I will know my way around with confidence and this new home won't be quite so intimidating or daunting! Thanks again for all the hard work, is appreciated!

SuzyQ 11-02-2011 09:14 AM

I agree!
Suzy

grammysharon 11-02-2011 09:40 AM

katesnanna 11-03-2011 01:41 AM

To everyone who has been upset by the change:- Please don't leave, all your friends will miss you. We are all the same people we were 2 days ago. If you need help all you need to do is ask, just the same as before. It may take some members longer to get it but we're all here to help each other. I hadn't heard one person have a bad word about this board since I joined well over a year ago. We always tell new members what a great place this is and how much they are going to enjoy it. What will you do without this board. Hang in there and Happy Quilting.

Little Sue 4.9 11-03-2011 02:35 AM

It will take time but we will go on as normal. It's hard but so far I think I like it.

GreatGranny201 11-03-2011 02:53 AM

Thank you for trying to improve this site. Change is hard, but something we all have to deal with. I'm sure it will become easier for us as we continue to check out the site.

hannajo 11-03-2011 03:08 AM

I also want to say my thanks to all who work so hard to make this site as great as it is. I'm not here as much as I'd like, but it's always a great release in my day to be able to stop by and share with you all. My only question is: do all you super members have capes? I'd love to see photos!

KathyKat 11-03-2011 03:11 AM

So far I like it! I just wish the background was a light gray rather than white. Pictures are much clearer now Love all the text formatting options.

kuntryquilter 11-03-2011 03:20 AM

We could use some instructions on how to navigate all the changes. I cannot find 'My Pages' and they were important to me.
