I would rather make a whole new item, than repair one.

Advice - get a sewing machine with NO free arm - then you physically can't do mending on it.
I do however have a double duvet cover here that a friend has asked me to make into a single and it's sat there for weeks and I really should do it, it will probably only take half an hour and I said I would but the truth is, I DON'T WANNA!!!  |
I have patched pants for my husband and they are never patched right by his standards so i dont do it any more they get cut up.

I patch a lot of jeans. My son in law is a carpenter and I fix his pants all the time.
It's a skill I can use to help others. I usually un-sew the seams and replace whole sections, that's not really "patching" Vicky~ |
To me it's always easier to make something new from scratch than to fix something that messed up.

I have patched jeans in the past, but now my children are old enough to do it themselves. Seems as though they are able to buy new ones instead of patching! (LOL)

I hate patching up anything.

I do what is necessary in my own household but no I do not take in sewing and patching from others for "Free" or "Cash". I do not enjoy it, have to much to do, just say no and that is all there is. Most of the freeloaders just to lazy wanting you to do their work while they have good time. No thanks.

I'd rather take a beating than patch anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Carharts I'll make an exception, they are expensive. |
