Billy

Billy, I know you're the expert but I had thought Singer made many badged machines during the war or some other time frame. I am very interested in learning what you think/know. Obviously you believe Singer didn't make this one but from some of my research I have read (I thought) that Singer did badged machines for various stores that wanted their particular name on their machines. Any information that you can provide would be greatly appreciated as I know you know your machines so much more than I do. Thanks in advance for your help/precious time in your helping me understanding this.

My friend Robyn is still checking.
She is waiting for an answer from Needlebar.

"did some checking... Still nothing yet from Needlebar, but Bill in VA says Davis too. He mentioned that Singer never did any badged machines and I have never seen any either. That plus the leaf tension and placement of the belt say something other than Singer. It's a beautiful machine and cabinet. The only difference in cabinet types is this one looks like the kind that raises up when you lift the lid (could be wrong about that but going on appearances). No coffin top like my Texas Advocate."

Try looking for a serial number or manufacturer's mark somewhere on machine. Maybe underneath or inside somewhere.

I don't know anything about the machine either but she is beautiful! Have you named her yet? (suggestion: Clara for Clara Barton)
