I agree ... make the whole quilt first so you can spot where you need to clarify directions. Better yet, write your directions and get a friend to make the quilt. She will have a different point of view that you would and might spot things you would take for granted.
I do like to have cutting instructions so I can do as much as possible before getting together to sew. I just don''t cut well with others as I am too distractable. ali |

I've run the Patchwork Puzzle by Judy Hopkins (at the URL quoted) for a couple of groups of ladies here in the UK BUT I pieced the quilt differently. Where there are Flying geese units and a plain strip added I used a square and did 'sew and flip' corners to give this unit (one less seam to sew and show). Then I didn't make 'puss in the corner' blocks. Just a whole lot of 4 patches. Once you've done these two units sewing them together with more plain squares is a breeze.
