just got out my new dresden ruler and gave it this treatment - would be thrilled for something so simple to work!
|
I just learned this tip at the Omaha Modern Quilt Guild meeting! Within days I had a call to use it and it works great! Another tip is to us the fabric-y bandaids - just the sticky part. These have enough grip to keep the ruler from slipping, don't remove any markings and are temporary.

thank you! thank you! I appreciate you sharing this idea .... tried it out and it really does work .... and the price is just right.

Nail polish and sand wouldn't be that different from sand paper dots.
Other ideas include using double stick tape (replace when it doesn't stick any more) or double stick colorless mounting tape. |
Small dots of cheap shelf liner from $ store. Used double stick tape. Work great.
|
That is a clever idea -- and using things that most of us have on hand!

I love that grip on a roll clear stuff you buy. It really makes a big difference. It covers the whole ruler and I love it.
|
Interesting!!! Thank you.

Would think the clear silicone would work with the salt too. Maybe the salt would keep the silicone from picking up lint. Worth a try.
