Perfect choices! Did you change out the yellow? The other one seemed much brighter.

Oh I am so glad you kept the YELLOW! It looks beautiful like that. I happen to love yellow! I also love that you used it in the border too. Will you be quilting it? Your Mom's friend is gonna love your gift!  :-D

Now you can really see what is going on in the quilt! I LOVE at the colors are right, it was your green background that set things a rye...The little yellow on the borders really bring it all together...your mothers friend is going to love it too...I am very sure of that much!

Looks like Kiwi and I are the only ones LATELY to check this out. While sitting at my computer screen, and with a tablet and pencil drew out your pattern. I quite liked the "finished" look of your final decision and thought I'd try to do a test block or two.
It is complicated!! I really had to study your photo and concentrate on where each color was situated. I used ABC and OXYZ, so not counting the setting triangles, that's about seven colors per two blocks. Wow - anyway, it seemed complicated and I wondered how you figured this out. I really admire you for doing it. I'm not sure I'd ever even think of this pattern. But I'm going to give it a go. Using different colors, but using the same number of colors, and putting them in the same places as you have. I hope you will be able to publish a photo of the finished quilt top .. would love to see. |
I kinda like the yellow myself but if you're not sure of it, now is the time to audition different colors in that spot that you might like better. cut out a few half square triangles and see how you like them. Good luck.

I like the yellow -- it makes the quilt look brighter and cheerier (if that's a proper word!!)

Gingerella, I hope you will post pictures too. :-)
