I also agree that Eleanor Burns has a great book on log cabin quilting. The orginal pattern I had made you cut each strip indivially. I like the one strip consept. I found my book for $6.00 on Amozone .com. Enjoy!

Just remembered another one I made - from the new Judy Martin book, an adaptation of the 'Loveland' pattern. It was a present so it's not here anymore. But here's a pic... I'm now saving FQs to make the Snake River pattern from the same book - inspired by Dunster's here on the board. Hang on I'll find the link here it is http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-25246-1.htm

1930's fabric looks great and I think they fit for a child at least for a little girl. Or for a little boy novelty fabrics would work.

Sounds great! I have some of both.

Sorry ladies, I lost my computer for a couple of days. I was lost. I have seen so many wonderful quilts, and great ideals.
I have come to the conclusion: I called the library , they
had Elearnor Burns book. I will get it tomorrow, It will do until I can order them. ( we are having a snow storm tonight,
I hope I can get there ) I hate snow!!!! So I guess my quilt is on hole for now.

Thanks everyone so much.

The first quilt I ever made was the Logcabin from Elearnor Burns Book. For a child's quilt, I'd use bright colors and fabrics with small dots or something along that line.
